The Blog - Changing my Mindset P.4
July 18th, 2015
Got up, wrote out my ToDo list for today, then…. life started to happen.
Distractions:
“A Day in the Life” by The Beatles
Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
How do I get back on track????
"Fundamentals are the basic building blocks of anything in life. They are the foundation of the house. When the foundation of the house is solid and strong, you can build a higher ceiling because it has a better base of support.”
When stuff goes a wry, go back to the basics, the beginning, see what aspect wasn’t clear. Can I get better at that basic subject? Can I be better prepared for the next time some similar challenge arises? What fundamental skill do I need to master?
Multitasking is a myth. Some of us have the ability to switch back and forth from one task to another with varying degrees of success, but the fact remains that we can still only do one thing at a time. So the skill to improve is the skill of rapidly switching back and forth.
If this is difficult for you, as it currently is for me, then it’s time to start telling yourself the truth. let yourself and others know that you have need of some quite time to complete your task and to not interrupt unless it’s an emergency.
This leads to another topic, saying “no”. To be evaluated at another time.
Believe it or not, I find myself wanting to write on several topics at once here, but I won’t do them all justice, so I’m splitting them into different posts.
Tomorrow’s another day and I’m planning of a more focused post for you.
Stay tuned for today’s part two on this: “Failure”
See you soon on The Blog!

M....those days are frequent for me, but at least, like you, I have awareness, and with awareness change comes I believe. Sometimes I sit down to start a task, and end up doing a dozen others, sometimes, I get focussed and stay on track.
I love to hear someone else speak from the same space I live in. Look forward to tomorrow's 'failure'.
