Old Versus New Making Money Online
My History
When i first started creating websites back in 1996-7 the only way you could make any money online was to create a website that was selling a product and take credit or debit card payments for the sales you made. There were a number of programs that you could buy to create a website but they all required you to have good programming knowledge and to be honest the whole process was a nightmare.
A few years later and as online payments became more popular many companies looking for safer and easier ways to move money between people began using Paypal.
Paypal allows companies and private individuals to link a secure online presence to their bank accounts. There are a number of alternatives but Paypal became a standard and trusted company.
As a website creator there were still a number of 'hoops' to jump through in order to use this new facility, as although there were an increasing number of website-creator programs coming onto the market it was still incredibly hard to create a website and take online payments.
My Current Situation
A few days ago, Yahoo posted an article about a young lad from Northumberland UK who was earning about £3000 per week, it explained how he was doing it and gave a link to a 'dodgy' looking website run by Walter Green aka 'The Green Machine'.
I watched their extremely long video and it all seemed rather odd, it was using something called 'binary options' which is a stock market term for 'win or lose'. To continue past that video required signing up and paying $200.
At this point i was worried ! You pay your money and click a button and suddenly you have more money ?!* If it really is that simple then everyone would do it, I remenbered the old phrase
Thankfully i openned up my browser and ran a Google search on Walter Green. One of the top results was by a WA member 'Marcus WFHW' who posted on his site all about scams current and past and recommending Wealthy Affiliates.
Boy am i glad i Googled that scam and followed Marcus' link to WA !. Here i am 4 days later, after long hours, struggles and daily hard work with my own domain name, my own website and a huge community of lovely, helpful people. So far i have spent some money (but not much) and made none, however i can see the future based on my past, and with Wealthy Affiliates and hard work i know i'm heading in the right direction.

The possibilities are huge, Mozo. I've had a little bit of success outside of WA, but it's so much easier here in a community of like-minded folks.

What a nightmare that used to be, i remember late 90s when i wanted to start online marketing,one look at the coding and knew i could never do it in 100 years.

Thank you, yes i still have a couple of sites out there from the old days. Long since sold them tho' thank goodness !
