I've started adding links to my content, but my new pages haven't gotten ranked in Google yet. It's been several days for most of them; is it normal to take this long to get ra
Okay, there's the low-down on links on a page.....
Internal linking (links from within your post to another one of your posts or your pages) are important. Do this.
External links to authority websites such as Google Support pages, Wikipedia, a government or .edu website look good to Google as it shows you as a reference (authority) and that you've done some research.
Affiliate links - okay, but not too many. Keep this at a minimum in your posts.
Now, as with many other aspects (like keywords) - do these as they come natural - don't force it.
I'll generally have a couple of internal links, a couple of external (authority sites) and one or two affiliate links (max) per post.
But, also, many of my posts will not have a single affiliate link. (Because they are also in your sidebar - don't forget that - it shows all the time.)
Many of my posts/pages were created purely to draw website traffic.....allowing the menu navigation to take visitors to my affiliate pages. Also, the internal linking can serve this same purpose.
Thank you so much! I didn't even know about external links to authority sites. I will start sprinkling those into my posts as well.
In regards to the sidebar, do you mean that all my affiliate links will show up in my sidebar? I haven't seen them there; my sidebar just has links to my recent posts as well as an archive. If adding a sidebar that shows affiliate links is part of the training, maybe I just haven't gotten to it yet (I'm on Course 3 Lesson 5).
Some times having to many links in your post looks spammy to google. Just my opinion...best wishes
If I write a post I sometime put one or two link in my post ...no more than that..any thing more than that look spammy..

So far I have published four pieces of content on my website, and one has an affiliate link in it already. I was considering putting my WA affiliate link in my About Me page. I
It is said you shouldn't add any affiliate links until you get a good amount of content. You wouldn't want google to see your site as spam. Otherwise, for every outgoing link, you want to have to have an internal link as well. Best wishes to you.
Makes sense if you think about it. If you have a site with 1 post but banners on your sidebar and links in your post. You would have more outgoing links, which would seem like a spam site.
