The Golfer I Am Looking For As A Potential Customer
I just finished Course 3 lesson 1 and now have a clearer idea of my potential golfer customer profile. Your critique of this profile would be appreciated. For example, is it too general or too specific?
Golfer profile for shortgameprowess.com:
Age: male and over 40
Time Constraints: Work schedule is fairly flexible so he has time to practice and play
What this improving golfer does:
a. Watches videos on youtube to address perceived problem areas
b. Buys books from Amazon or Kindle on any golf subject
c. Watches Golf channel, especially the golf instructional shows
d. Watches pro golf tournaments to see how the pros play golf. He doesn't care about the color commentary and has no favorite golfer
e. Buys dvd's and gadgets promising to improve his game...most don't.
f. Can't find very much about the golf short game, most of this is packaged with the golf long game.
g. Flexible enough to try different putters and wedges as well as different styles of pitching, chipping and putting.
h. Goes to at least one golf school.
My responsibilities as a golf short game web site owner:
a. To write good articles on any aspect of the short game giving tips on what works for me.
b. Making a disclaimer at the end of each article telling my reader to see his pro for more information or help and that what I have written is only MY opinion.
c. Once I have enough site visitors, I might put up affiliate links of products or books that I have bought myself and still use.

Hi AngelaSmith1: Perhaps this is true, it's just that I haven't seen it. I've played at our local country club and local municipal course. At each place, there is a dedicated Lady's Day. Men can't play that day, but I usually go out to practice. I see perhaps four or five foursomes total. Is it different where you live?
Wow really? As a teen I used to go all the time with my grandma. Almost all who came through were mid-aged or older ladies. But ya know what-it was a par3 lil course with a frnt9 and back9. Bet that had alot to do with it!
We also have a par 3 here. I notice it is always full, mostly with much older people(70's and 80's). But at least they're still out there. I intend to play golf as long as I'm able.
