Good answers below for you , Laura!

Hi Laura, site support can add records and make changes to your DNS. They're usually quick to respond. Unless something has changed though, the link provided by Abie should get you set up with Google and you shouldn't have to go into your DNS.

Right, no need for me to go into the DNS. But just following Google's instructions makes one think that you do. I did follow the video and got it all sorted now.

Thanks for your input on this. :)

Thanks so much...I did go review that video by Kyle. I can't help but think that if someone tells someone else to set that Search Console up, they should probably include that video link...so they don't get off on the wrong track like I did.

Still, all is well now...thanks again! :)

So I was poking around in my WP back office and noticed that on one, just one, of my posts, it shows an AIOSEO score of 78/100. The thing is, it's the only one of my posts that

Hi, If you edit the post as to change just one character upon update, it would give a score.

A very good score is between 60 and 80. For best results, you should aim for 70 and above.. These are just guidelines, however it should not replace quality content however both can be achieved.

A simple way is to go where you edit the wordpress page or post in wordpress, then on the right hand side of your page, near the top, click update. The score should update.

Next, whether or not the score updated, scroll down to the AIOSEO section, and fill in the missing blanks, for instance, add the excerpt tag, or on one of the sections it asks for a single keyword focus for your article. This one is important in generating a score. Fill in the word, then follow the SEO instructions provided.

Click update when you finish, and you should see a score.

Hi, this aioseo plugin still got some bugs. You don't necessarily have to pay attention to it. As long as you have your title, then you're fine.

Thanks for that input...I truly don't know enough to know if you are correct or not, but I appreciate the info all the same.

Have a nice day :)

Jay did a video all about the new aiseo - and how things work and such
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/classes/navigating-the-new-all-in-one-seo

Thanks for that link. I've seen that before (the link, not the video), and I have planned to watch before...just never got around to it and then it slipped through the cracks.

So now I plan to watch for sure and see what I can learn.

Thanks again...and have a great day :)

I just watched that video and found it VERY informative. On the one hand, the score doesn't really matter, as far as ranking goes. But on the other hand, Jay called it a "checklist", which is a good thing to use to make sure you are doing what you need to be doing on your site.

So, I will go through all of my posts and fix things as needed, or as I can, and go from there.

Thanks again!

Moon

You're welcome

I have a domain that I set up almost a year ago with BlueHost. Since joining here, I've been meaning to transfer it, but didn't realize I need a transfer code. I need to get it

If you have a website installed on the domain name then you'll need to back it up and migrate it to Wealthy Affiliate's hosting. Contact Site Support for full instructions.

As far as transferring the domain name you should do that as a separate exercise. You'll need to get the instructions for that from BlueHost.

Thanks for that info. I think I have all of my content backed up already, as I did that as I added posts, but is there anything else to back up?

Yes, you need to back up your themes and plugins too. Use a backup plugin. Try All In One WP Migration for a big site or WP Clone if your site is small. Contact Site Support for full instructions.

Good to know, as I haven't done this before. Thanks so much for all the info! I will work on all of that...I have time at least. :)

The transfer code comes from Bluehost. You will need to follow their process to get your site ready to transfer and then you will get the code.

Google "Bluehost domain transfer" and there will be a link to the instructions.

Thanks so much for that info. I will check that out and probably contact BlueHost tomorrow. :)
