You Can't Go Back and Change the Beginning, But You Can Start Where You Are And Change the End.
When we talk about Mindset Reset, the focus is getting past an issue and learning how to do something a better way.
But what about the people who can’t seem to move forward?
Maybe you feel that you’ve hit rock bottom in your Affiliate Marketing journey and don’t know if you’ll ever ‘get it.’
- Your First Step is to Acknowledge Your Situation instead of Trying to Hide from it.
A Mindset Reset is when you accept the fact that you are not cracking it. Usually, this moment comes after hitting rock bottom several times over. Instead of pretending like everything is okay, take ownership and responsibility for where you are now.
You may have started out with thinking that Affiliate Marketing is the next big thing for you. But 3 months in you’ve hit the wall for the umpteen time and its starting to take its toll on you, emotionally, physically, and socially.
Emotionally - you’re feeling overwhelmed anxious and stressed.
Physically - you’ve started to sleep poorly, and food just doesn’t seem to do it for you anymore.
Socially … what social life?
Here are a few do’s that may help you slow down and smell the roses.
Acknowledge Where You Are
First and foremost, you must acknowledge where you are in your life right now. Don’t try to lie to yourself and pretend like you’re in a better place than you actually are.
- If You’re Just Started out in the Affiliate Marketing Space, Give Yourself Some Slack.
If you have hit rock bottom, don’t look for ways to try and justify it or make it sound better OR worse than it really is. Remember, Mindset Reset is about facing your problems head on instead of pretending that they aren’t there.
It’s about accepting that, for the time being, you have started a new journey that expects you to learn new jargon, acquire new skills, navigate keywords and yes …. Write content consistently.
- There’s Nothing Wrong with Feeling Out of Your Depth and There is Nothing Wrong with Needing Help and Support.
There’s nothing wrong with asking for help, taking what you need, and putting your life into someone else’s hands.
That’s how you begin to get things back on track.
Take Responsibility For Your Actions
After you’ve accepted where you are, it’s time to take responsibility for your actions. This is where a lot of people get caught up in the idea of ‘it’s too hard’ or play the ‘blame game’.
- You Want to Take Responsibility and Own Up to the fact that You’re Here Because You Choose to be Here.
It’s not easy to do, but it’s necessary. So, look back at the path that led you here and see where you could have done things differently.
Decide to Move Forward
When you’ve accepted where you are and you’ve taken responsibility for your successes and failures, make the decision to move forward.
Sometimes this means that you need to talk yourself back into the game.
- You have to Decide that Your Past Failures and Successes will not Define You.
You have to decide that you are going to take control of your actions from this point forward.
Remember that in the Wealthy Affiliate Family you have a team that will help you to become better.
You have people around that have walked the same road that you’re currently on with amazing skills and insights that genuinely want to help you succeed.
Right now, you may not know what the future holds, but you get to decide how you want to get there, how you want to live your life and how you want to move forward from today.
Commit to a Course of Action
Now that you’ve decided to move forward, it’s time to commit to a course of action and make sure that you’re taking the right steps to move forward.
You have to make sure that you’re not going to make the same mistakes as before.
You have to make sure that you’re not going to fall back into old habits.
You have to commit to facing your challenges head on instead of running from them.
- You have to commit to Staying Calm and Following the Training Step by Step.
Write an Encouragement Letter to Yourself
This is an exercise that is designed to bring you clarity as you move forward in your Affiliate Marketing journey.
It’s a moment of self-reflection where you can look at your life and decide what you want and to reflect on your current situation and journey.
- It’s a Great way to Understand How you Got to this Point and What you Can do to Change Things Moving Forward.
Writing a letter to yourself is often difficult and you may want to put it off because you may not know how or where to start, or what to say.
The best thing you can do is to just get the pen and paper (or keyboard) and start writing. Don’t worry about getting it perfect or saying the right thing.
Just write down what you’re feeling and what you’re thinking.
Conclusion
The journey to Mindset Reset has no magic cure that will fix everything and make it so that you never have to deal with your insecurities again. There is no magical path, but it is a path that will slowly help you to get better.
The best way to start down this path is to accept that you’re at rock bottom. Once you do that, you can begin to climb up again.
