“Never stop learning because life never stops teaching” Emmily Vara
Learning is an integral part of human life; it makes our world richer and more interesting. People learn throughout their lives. They learn from their childhoods, adulthood, and old age. People learn in schools and from their families. We also learn through the mistakes we make in life so no matter what age or education level you may find yourself today, learning is an essential part of daily life.
Here are a few thoughts.
- To become a continuous learner, fight against complacency.
Sometimes we can become complacent because we feel as though we have achieved a level of success and so become resistant to change, or due to failure we stop seeking new opportunities and become resigned to our current life situation.
- To become a continuous learner, block out time on your calendar to research and engage in new learning.
Becoming a continuous learner is an essential part to being successful in life. So, let’s be real for a minute, and agree that it's difficult to grow competency and capacity without devoting time to both personal and professional development. As we devote ourselves to learning it will enable you and me to remain ahead of our competitors because learning allows us to keep our minds fresh and our options open.
- To become a continuous learner, learn from others.
Every person becomes a self-learner on a personal level from birth . As we navigate the different factors that affect our ability to learn we remain curious and continuously engage people that know more than us to expand our knowledge and allow new ideas to present themselves to us.
- To become a continuous learner, refresh your skills.
The world of online business is dynamic and changing at an ever-increasing pace. Where technology is making some jobs obsolete it is increasingly creating new opportunities for those who can learn and adapt. So, as we are refreshing our skills, we gain new knowledge and abilities which will make for new opportunities to present themselves.
• To become a continuous learner, look for opportunities to learn.
Living a fulfilled life requires courage and determination and I believe that all human beings possess the potential to reach greatness.
Stephen Wozniak, Steve Jobs’ friend wanted to build his own computer board because he wanted a personal computer for himself. Intrigued by the idea Steve took interest, because he believed that his friend's invention could be sold to software hobbyists, and on April 1, 1976, Apple was born. What not many people know is that it took 7 years for Apple to make it in the industry but by his 25th birthday Jobs was estimated to be worth $200 million. However, by early 1985, as the PC industry fell into a slump, and the sales of Apple products declined, and Steve Jobs refusing to acknowledge that his products were no longer hitting the mark he was effectively kicked out of his own company. After dabbling in various opportunities and Apple almost closing, on September 16, 1997, Jobs accepted to become Apple's interim CEO and it is believed that he had explained to his biographer Walter Isaacson that there were times that he was so exhausted, that he couldn't speak when he came home at night. Today we look at one of the most profitable companies in the world, but this is because Apple refused to rest on its laurels. Steve refused to give in but chose to fight against complacency, engaged in new learning and research, wasn’t too arrogant to learn from others, refreshed his skills and was always looking for opportunities to learn.
Note to self:
May you and I never become complacent human beings who have stopped striving and growing.

Thank you for taking time to read the memo Paula. Remember where there's a will there's a way. Jacob
This blog is rather a reminder to myself as I'm still coming to grips with writing, editing and publishing :)

Love this post, Jacob. We older folks should never stop learning, haha!
I'm always glad I loved learning new things and kept up with all the technological changes over the years. We've seen many inventions, haven't we?
And because I never shied away from new things, I was able to start working online with less struggle than most.
Cheers,
Suzanne
Thanks for the endorsement Suzanne. I do believe that those of us that adapt will be able to reinvent our financial futures. Regards Jacob
