Colonel Sanders - 1,009 Times!
I wanted to share with you all how I have been continuously motivated by the life of Col. Sanders. Yes, the man of KFC fame. All apologies to Kyle, with all his great blogs about healthy food and lifestyle. I will say that when I order from KFC, I do always order the grilled chicken, and not the fried, LOL, anyway I digress.
The persistence that Col. Harland Sanders displayed on his way to becoming a household name is very inspiring to me. After selling chicken in a service station he owned with a lot of success, he decided he wanted to franchise. So, he began a trek across the country in his car to meet with restaurant owners, sleeping in his car and shaving in service stations.
He would cook his chicken on the spot for his prospects and if they liked it, they could sell it if they would give him a certain percentage of the profits. This was met with rejection after rejection, as those prospects had not been used to doing business in that manner.
He would go back home at times to try and perfect his recipe, continuously tweaking his approach, but never giving up. As a matter of fact, he counted 1,009 rejections before he got to Yes! His persistence had payed off, he made it to person 1,010.
So many people would have given up after 9 times, much less 1,009.
I just wanted to motivate everyone to keep tweaking, keep persisting because when you do, success has to come.
"I've only had two rules: Do all you can and do it the best you can. It's the only way you ever get that feeling of accomplishment." Col. Sanders
Now I've got to go everyone, I seem to be getting hungry for some KFC grilled chicken! Much success to you all, Michael
