All About Mindset: Inspiration From the Ancients

I'm a huge fan of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman history. My pastime study of it has provided me with some truly profound words of wisdom. Words that we Moderns can still apply in our lives today.
For those that don't know, Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor and one of the first thinkers of what we now call Stoic philosophy. How's that for a resume?
The Stoics were huge proponents of having the right mindset and firm believers that having positive thoughts would lead to a happier, more successful life. Because in doing so we create in our minds the visions and feelings of the happiness and success we desire.
Think of it this way. Have you ever 'gotten up on the wrong side of the bed' and the rest of your day just seemed to spiral downward from there? Or have you ever 'started off on the right foot' and everything just came together? That's the power of mindset, whether good or bad. The good news is that you have the power to change your mindset whenever you want. It all starts with you in your mind.
I hope the above quote helps to remind you of the power of your own mind. It's truly the greatest tool you have at your disposal.
