Ranking Calculations

Does anybody know how the system determines your ranking? I've been a member for a little over a week, and I don't think I've done all that much, yet my rank has skyrocketed from 300,000 something to 945. What is that based on?

WA ranking is based on your activity here. When you first join, since you've had no activity, you'll rank near the very bottom. Yes, there really are that many accounts here but many of them are inactive.
As you participate, you score points in 3 areas - Helper, Creator, and Activity. These are totaled and ranked against all other WA members' scores. To see the details of your individual scores, click on the blue "Rank" icon in the upper right area of the main WA page.
OK, thanks. I guess if the vast majority of accounts are inactive then that would explain it. My initial rank did not surprise me, it's just that I haven't been here long and haven't done that much and the rapid rise seemed puzzling.
