Site Comments Feature - A Quick Observation

I have used the "Site Comments" feature for some time to acquire high-quality comments from fellow Wealthy Affiliate members.

Most of the time, the experience is going quite fine, but there are a couple of points that need to be clarified in this regard:

1- The comment should have a positive point of view regarding the topic at hand. For example, if the review talks about a high-ticket item sold on Amazon, the commenter should not point out that he is hesitant or doesn't feel safe buying a high-ticket item on Amazon.

Instead, he might ask a question regarding safety, refunds, and so forth, which would make a comment more of a clarification than a declaration of concern.

2- Many comments are stuffed with something like: "Thank you for the amazing informative review...", "your review is very helpful" etc. This kind of comments adds nothing of value to the blog owner. Instead, try and focus on a particular point within the review.

3- The spelling checker should be activated within the SiteComments section, as it will reduce the time for us to correct mistakes. As we all know, grammar and spelling mistakes can affect rankings.

These were only an opinion and quick observations. I invite you all to share yours in the comments below!

Have a great day!

Marc.

I think where many commenters go wrong is that they think they need to put together some sort of concise review of the article.

Meanwhile, when we think of all the organic, real comments we've ever gotten on any article we've published, they never summarize the post. It'd be bizarre if they did.

Instead, they simply ask a question or bring out a single point that they maybe agree or disagree with, etc.

Commenters can do themselves a huge favor and probably lighten their load substantially by simply commenting from the perspective of someone who's actually in the audience the author is targeting instead of tasking themselves with summarizing the article for no reason.

Also, there's no need to restate the title of the article, that's a common one I get that's equally bizarre.

Additionally, starting a comment with "I've never heard of this before" when the topic is about something basic that any member of that target audience would know about usually isn't a good start :)

[Topic all about gardening]
[Commenter: "I've never gardened in my life or ever really had an interest in it, but this is an interesting article."

(No bueno.) :)

For me, a simple comment like "The one point you mention about.... how exactly do you feel if we do that except we....." is a winner every. single. time.

We don't need book reports.
We need comments that sound real :)

Good post.

Spot on Eric, I can't agree more with everything that you said.

Marc.

I liked this topic so much I made a quick vlog about it :)
The more members leaving great comments on the platform the more beneficial it is to everyone.

I have an idea that might be very useful, which is the following:

1- If WA can introduce a feature where we can select commentators that will have priority when we require a comment. This way, we can build a "team" of commentators that fit our requirements.

2- The ability to send comment requests to friends here in WA. Let's say I know you are a good commentator. In addition to waiting for others to comment, I can send you the comment request on a personal level and vice versa.

What do you think?

We can do a trial if you like!

Marc.

I think the downside of that is having the same people commenting over and over on your content.

You don’t want the commenters on your articles to appear staged.

I think Site Comments works great as is. We just need it for those first few comments on each article.

The more people get used to leaving quality comments the better the feature is for everyone to use. :)

Your point makes sense. However, if the comments are well written, it can show that you have a loyal audience who reads every single post and interacts with you regularly.

To put it into perspective, let's say you have regular "organic" commentators that would be a massive plus for you.

Yeah that’s not the most common thing. It’s rare to have a follower comment on every single post, and then having 5 or 6? I think it’d start to look staged.
