Faith
Faith
Faith has many meanings.
1. A strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny.
2. An institution to express belief in a divine power
3. Complete confidence in a person or plan.
4. Loyalty or allegiance to a cause or a person.
Growing up we were not a very religious family. We hardly went to church beyond the normal Easter and Christmas. I was always brought up to respect others religions, but that we should never discuss religion or politics. My father would say that is what causes wars. He is right as the majority of every war is either related to politics or religion. I am not referring to Faith in the religious sense. I am talking about Faith as in trust.
I am a very trusting person so much so that I was taken for rides many times. People tell me I need to change and not be so trusting. This is something I cannot do. I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I want to believe that there is good in all people. Yes, I have gotten burned by people and I am not dumb. The saying goes screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me.
I had 3 partners when I first started my business . We had long discussions prior to the opening as to what each of our goals were. How we would handle certain situations. Honesty, Trust and Integrity are the traits that I value most! I could not emphasis more. If I cannot trust you then we can never be partners. Partner 3 stole money from the company. We had confronted him twice and both times he denied. Once I had the solid proof, I presented it to both of them and told partner 3 to leave. Partner 2 told me to give Partner 3 another chance. I said No as the trust had been broken. Therefore, I withdrew from the partnership and started my own company.
I want to share with you one of my favorite quotes "Faith is a mirror and U are the reflection". It is from a song from a very talented Artist, Singer and Friend. Be on the look out for our website coming soon.

It must of been a hard time. To find your partner steel from you .
You did right to leave the partnership.
It has been great to read your blogs, about your life and experiences .
Wish you lots of success .
Thank you Shirley!
Yes quite a difficult time, luckily our business was only 6 months old.
Like they say thinks happen for a reason, which it actually helped me purchase the coffee business that I had for 11 years. A blessing in disguise.
Marc
I can relate to that as I have tried on several occasions to trust partners in business and they always have their own agenda
as how they are going to use you..eventually I told myself
Its best I do it alone and don't waste time in the process.
Your message is very inspiring..
Thank you for your blog. Mijareze's comment is so true. You are a very nice person and your partner new what they were doing and it was his choice. I know you will do very well here at WA, and I wish you all the best in your new business. Keep us posted please! Linda
Thank you Linda! I appreciate it.
I really wish everyone here in WA does well!
Please keep in touch,
Marc
Trust, integrity and I'll add honesty are virtues that are hard to find in people today, that's my opinion! It sounds like you're a nice easy going person.
Thank you for your blog,
Ed
Thank you Ed!
I try to be that person, it's unfortunate that I had to say this throughout my career in management. People seem to take kindness as weakness. I used to tell my staff, I can be the nicest person or the biggest a-hole, your choice.

Hi Marc, Here's an (oddly enough) non-religious definition of faith found in the Bible:
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Thanks Brian! That's a great non religious definition too!
