Committed To My Goal

Last Update: April 01, 2014

In my little office where I work I keep a little statue of Yoda the old Jedi Master from the star wars movie. Some days when I have to practice self discipline in accomplishing my tasks, like today, Yodas words spoken to Luke Skywalker remind me that I am working on a committed goal. Sometimes when the going gets tough his words echo back to me.

"There is no try. There is only do or do not" - Yoda

It teaches me to be open to flexibility but not to quitting.

Sincerely Mike

I love this, my Son was OBSESSED with watching Star Wars movies a few years ago. Everytime I would mention anything about "trying", he would look at me SO seriously and repeat that very Yoda quote, it always cracked me up but he never realized how many times it made me stop and think when he said it! It really is true.

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. Not sure who quoted it. Perhaps Wayne Dyer

I loved Yoda! Thanks for the memories! I keep a voodoo doll by my desk for those moments of desperation!

:) my first ever film at the pictures! And a firm favourite series since - and my boys. And you're right. If you don't do it, no-one will do it for you - you either do it, or you don't!! No point in complaining if "it never happens to you" if you never do it yourself!!

All the best, Mark
