If your niche is baby development, I would hashtag #milestones -- that's a popular one my friends use when their babies learn something new

You want to "#" or "hashtag" anything that people might be searching on twitter. You can also see what's trending and try to incorporate a relevant tweet that includes the trending phrase.

Example:
#Tired of working 9-5? Me too! Learn #affiliatemarketing & work from home!

If somebody searches "tired" or "affiliatemarketing" your tweet will pop up.

My personal site niche is women's daily devotionals so I post my link to the devotional and I hashtag #dailydevotional and #god etc. gotten followers that way

Done :) I don't use Twitter much except that I tweet my blog posts and Pinterest pins. I just don't understand it...

I think I was told for everything you plug, you should 5 to 6 comments without selling something. I kind of like it. I didn't for years, but I get a lot of traction on my articles over there.
