A new member needs help with a question!

Hey guys. I noticed the other day that a new member, Laurie, had a question. I tried to answer it but I'm still learning myself and wasn't able to figure out her problem. Since her question wasn't getting many answers, I thought I would type it on here. Thank you for your help!

LKMcCain asked:

I linked my WA profile page to my webpage as instructed in Affiliate Bootcamp, phase 1 lesson 9 by copying the address into the link on the webpage. When I shut down WA and brought up my webpage like anyone else would do, I was able to go into my Activity Dashboard, Get Started Here and all the other stuff I can do when logged in to WA. Isn't it dangerous to let total strangers have this kind of access? Or, did I do it wrong? Thanks! Laurie

I am glad that Laurie has solved her problem. :)

Hi Melanie! -

I will go investigate - see if she has been helped - or still needs help! :)

And remember Rome wasn't built in a day...but they were laying bricks everyday!

As far as only her know the password, the strangers cannot get access to her contents.

Everyone here is brilliant! I did log into my site using Chrome and sure enough, you couldn't get into my personal stuff. Awesome and thank everyone so much! Whew! I can sleep tonight.....:)

I new you would get an answer that would help!

I would agree with jmaurice you are "double dipping" as some would say, and goggle bots when they go crawling they will pick that up and will not rank you on your content as you have posted it twice, as for you logging into your Dashboard you can add yourself as either Admin or your name as a "user" and use different passwords for either your "Admin" or your "Name" so that when you go to log into your site WordPress will ask for which user you are going to login with. I hope that has some questions answered. have a great day now. :)

If you want a profile page on your website, I suggest you write a different one because google look at blogs from wa also, so your way of wanting it done could be considered double content

She was still signed into WA. Strangers can not get access to that

I agree if you are not signed in you will see what others will see.
They do not have access to everything.

Sign out, clear your cookies, your system is probably keeping you signed in. You can check this out by using two web browsers, ie microsoft and chrome. It will happen on the browser you signed in on and not the other one. Try it.

She went to her activity dashboard because she probably didn't logout of WA.

Did she use the affiliate link on her profile page or the page url?
I log out look up my site and get the url that way. It works fine
