Bamboo shoot Recipe
Hi everyone,
I was not sure how to start a blog so thought of sharing a recipe that I prepared today to start of writing a blog.
Its a simple recipe prepared with bamboo shoot.Its very famous in our place.When I mentioned place, you must be wondering from which place am I? Well I am from the beautiful land of ASSAM from INDIA.
Lets start with, listing the ingredients for the bamboo shoot pickle.
Tips: You will get bamboo shoot in any Korean or Chinese market.I got from Loteplaza.
Ingredients
1 fresh bamboo shoots
Pinch of turmeric
Salt as per your taste
Mustered oil till grated bamboo shoot is immersed partially.
Method
- First peel outer layers of the bamboo shoot and grate it.
- Soak in water for 5 days in a air tight glass bottle for fermentation.
- Keep it in the sunshine.On the 5th day,drain and squeeze all the water
- Add pinch of turmeric powder for the color and salt as per your taste.
- Mix well and let it dry for a day in a plate.Add mustered oil and sliced red green small chilies and lemon juice.
- Bamboo pickle is ready.keep it in a glass bottle.
The taste is divine after a weeks time .Just give it a try and you will love it.
Fish recipe: Marinate fish with bamboo shoot pickle and steam it or cook in a microwave till fish is tender.Squeeze some lemon juice and serve with main course.
