Keeping track of keywords and SEO performance

Hi everyone,

this is just a quick update on how I try to keep an overview of my posts and their performance.

The more posts I write, the more I feel I am loosing track and the overview. Therefore, I started to make a list that keeps track of all posts that I wrote, which keywords they target and also what parts of the 10 SEO tips I paid attention to and which not

The following parameters I used for the spreadsheet:

• Post Title
• URL
• Target Keyword
• Searches (according to Keyword Tool)
• Traffic (according to Keyword Tool)
• Competition (according to Keyword Tool)
• List of 10 SEO Tips from the training here at WA
• Rank

The rank I want to measure maybe once per week or every two weeks to see if my ranking is improving by applying these tips to my posts.

However, although I thought that I did already good, I realized that there was more work to be done than I thought.

Only after half a day of re-adjustments I could manage to get more into the green area.

Areas to be improved still:

• More Embedded Videos: I was struggling so far to find proper video screen capturing software, but I feel like I will go for a paid version to avoid watermarks and to check out new trial versions every 30 days or so. I will see what is available on YouTube for now and try to make my own videos as soon as possible

• Comments: I will have to offer way more comments and ask them in return for all posts where they are still missing

• Ease of Social Sharing: I have actually social buttons in my theme but they seem to work only when I create my own business pages on either facebook or google+, otherwise there is a dead end following these buttons. So either I get those business pages or I will have to install a social plugin that is doing the job. Or I will have to do both after all.
