Horizons new !
The last four years have been a massive roller coaster for me and my family. One minute I was in my last year as a student nurse and my husband was preparing the set up of his landscape gardening business , we had a 15-year plan in place, we were going to get the kids through school, get through our sons autism assessments and diagnosis, then we were going to buy a small holding in the north of France and retire there enjoying fine wines and good steak !!
It wasn't meant to be, during one of my 16hour shifts in the intensive care unit, I collapsed, the doctors put it down to studying, work placements, working my regular care job and running a family too, I just took on too much, so I slowed down the pace a bit but it kept happening, and I was getting more and more poorly as the days went on. I couldn't even stand up for long enough for the kettle to boil !!! Then one day I collapsed and my husband could t bring me round, so off I was carted blue lights to the hospital, where I stayed for the next six weeks !!
They eventually discovered that my adrenal glands were no longer functioning, the fleece no longer producing the vital hormone that I needed to keep me alive 'cortisol' from that day forth my life changed, I could no longer work, I could t socialize how I wanted to. I was a sorry state, and I stayed that way till earlier this year !!!
I took up a new hobby , sewing and making children's clothes, I found it relaxing and I discovered that I was actually quite good at it . With some encouragement from my friends and family I decided to set up an online shop but had no idea what I was doing!! So I thought I'd have a little look into marketing and online selling ! WOW there was so much information so many offers, then someone sent me a private message with a link in it to WA !!!
I was skeptical at first, but I couldn't deny the sheer amount of positive reviews and how lovely everyone seemed, so I delved a little further and joined the free training and well that was it !! I was hooked , I completed the free bits and was eager for more and so I took the plunge and went premium ( anyone not sure !! Do it, it's been so educational and you gain so much from it as a starting point !!)
I had no marketing, selling, computer or writing experience, but in just over a week I have written 3 articles and made plans for several more !!! The training really is that good and so easy to follow, in a way I feel cheeted that I haven't found WA sooner !!!
For me personally choosing the niche was the hardest part, but the tools that are provided on here even make that easier, you can search out how much competition you have or whether you will get much interest or not, it's amazing, everything is right there .
I chose sensory toys and equipment for children with autism and sensory processing disorder as my niche as it is something I am familiar with, at this stage I wasn't ready to learn about a whole new subject, mainly due to the limitations of my illness, and also the subject is something quite personal to me as my son has ASD and SPD, and the road to diagnosis and getting help is a long hard and lonely slog whereby you are often left questioning yourself .
so if I can help put one family's mind at ease or offer support on the subject that will make me happy and fulfilled.
I still have a long way to go but I'm eager to get to the next step to see what awaits in the training, if nothing else it just feels good to be using my brain again .
My goals during the next set of training are to get the hang of 'dressing up ' my website to make it look more appealing and less clinical .
One last note, I have been completely overwhelmed by how supportive the whole community here have been, it's completely amazing .
all the positivity just makes you feel you will succeed !
So all the best and here's to horizons new

I agree and intend to uphold my end here with you anyone else who needs help, just the way I am :)
I'm also glad that you expressed your gratitude as so many people today take things for granted. I appreciate the difficulties parents deal with, whether it's autism, hunger, homelessness or in my case rescue animals.
A little gratitude goes along way is what my parents taught me .

Hi. Great post. We have a 10 year old boy with an attachment disorder with mild autism, he is fantastic, hard work and loves music.
I wish you the best for the future.
Thank you .
Music is a great outlet when it comes to self regulating for children with autism , it is something I will be covering on my website at some point . It is a lot hard work and a lot of learning on our part , but so worth it to see the world as they do .
I wish you all the best too
