What Are Your Thoughts On Finance Blogs?
Hi all, I have a pretty deep question that has been bothering me, I just started a website about personal finance. I consider it a passion of mine and something that I don't struggle to learn. I enjoy it and find myself watching finance videos, reading finance/investing articles/books and digging deep in the realms of the financial world. Overall, I love finance.
However, I don't have a bachelor's degree in finance and I've been having doubts about this because since I don't have a professional college education background and don't want to go into major student debt to get one, and have also found myself handling my finances well enough without a degree, I am afraid that people don't find my content reliable even if I what I share is valid and true.
Does my blog with the finance niche have any chance of success without me having at least a bachelor's degree in finance? I have an associate's degree in the general studies but once I finished that, I wanted to start my own ways to make money online (that's how I came across WA) and overall, finance is something I really do enjoy and love but the way it is taught in school sucks everything fun and interesting out of it even though I like what I'm learning... if that makes any sense.
I love researching and learning more about finance, investing, crypto, trading, budgeting, etc... but I'm afraid that even though what I write is based on facts, that my readers won't find me credible because I don't have a degree (other than an associate's degree). I would appreciate any feedback on this and I appreciate you all taking the time to read this.

Hi Misael, I share you passion for personal finance! I recommend not focusing on your lack of accredited education, instead focus on what you know and use sources from more highly qualified individuals/institutions to back up your positions. Honestly one of the best sources of financial information I ever came across was a membership site that was essentially the personal diary of a single guy's own experiences and explorations into personal finance. He repeatedly mentioned he wasn't an expert and was more sharing his thoughts and successes than he was preaching. Because he was so laid back and clear in his messaging I ended up learning lots and when I felt he didn't elaborate or corroborate enough I did my own research. But he was so good at identifying great strategies that I kept coming back. Just some food for thought.
Thank you, by any chance do you happen to know if his website is still active or if he's still doing what he's doing? I'd like to look at his site to learn some things here and there.
It's no longer around but one of the concepts introduced that I'd never heard of was Infinite Banking. Worth taking a look into.
HI Misael, Just keep going with your passion and go as you learn more. Incorporate in your online business improvements as you learn more along the way on how to leverage more on the possibilities of more earnings. Focus and patience are important in this kind of endeavor. I wish you the best. π ππ π
Get out of your own way and get that site going - just right from your heart.

I agree with the other commenters. People are looking for explanations and if you have good explanations and well written thoughtful articles it won't matter that you don't have a degree.
Keep learning and keep adding quality content. I think it's fine that you don't have a degree.
I've worried about the same thing in my niche of health.
Lisa
Thank you!
