If you want to be an author...then WRITE!
Hey everyone - hope all is well.
I read a great article recently about a guy who had a dream of being an author, and told his father about it. His father gave him this advice, "If you want to be an author...then write."
Sounds easy enough.
The guy started to tell his dad about all the reasons why he couldn't be author, and that he had to study and read other work, etc.
To each of his excuses, dad simply replied with, "If you want to be an author...then write."
The point is, the only way you'll be an author (or anything else for that matter), you have to just jump in and do it. Learn as you go, fail as you go, but the point is to just "go."
I guess I needed to read this article to remind me that even though things might not go along as quickly as I'd like or if I royally screw something up, to just keep going and try to do things better as I learn. Sometimes it's easier to make excuses than to just jump in and take action. I think I'll keep this article near my laptop.

I think we need to be like children again. Kids don't worry about how well they do something, they just do it and keep doing it. We learn judgment and get self critical as we get older. It's just fear.
