So you think writing a blog post is easy ?

I've just been dropping a note to a WA member, who's finding it hard to write an article. Well join the party, I think if we are honest with ourselves, most of us find it difficult, if not all the time at least some of the time.

As I write this blog, I realize that I'm scheduled to write for five of my sites in the next few days, and I'm stuck for ideas. It's remarkably easy when the passion is with you, but alas, passion is often a fleeting part of our makeup, and at present I'm devoid of it.

While I'm writing these notes I'm listening to Olivia Newton John singing 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina.' Now that brings on the passion, the beauty of the voice, the sadness of the song and yet the power within the words. It's inspiring, it gives life to the heart and soul, you realize it's good to be alive and you're ready to take on the world.

So I guess, find the passion and write what you feel deeply about; what stirs your soul.

I take my dull idea and put it into jaaxy. Then I find a keyword that makes me sparkle. Writing becomes easier then.

good idea using jaaxy

You are not along I was never good at putting words on paper,if you can not take these words and build them in to what people want to hear you are doomed. So hang in there you are not alone, lets hope some one comes up with a good way

I use Google alerts for ideas on all my sites, and it works like a charm. I am never short on article and post ideas. Hope that helps :)

Oh! Great idea! I've just set them up. Thanks for this. :)

Hi Mike, I am certainly one who finds it hard to write, I think I over think it! I do hope it gets easier in time, thanks for the post.

I used to write everything out first. But when I typed it out, it would end up totally different. Since last night, I am just typing. Then editing. It keeps my flow of thought going.

Hi Angelway, thank you I can see how that would work

Hi Mike - thanks for sharing this. I write as I talk - so I have plenty to write about (a woman's prerogative, LOL). No seriously, I've learned from Kyle's teaching to make a list of the topics first, and then elaborate from there. And recently, since joining WA, every Sunday at church, whatever I hear from the sermon, I always find something interesting to ponder on and usually I can find good subjects from this "something" to write about. That's my two cents worth. God bless.

Hi Margaret, thanks for your reply, sounds a good idea, just one of the many reason I joined WA. God bless.

I used to think it was incredibly pretentious when a writer would say "I just sat down and let the character/writing take over". After a few years of writing I finally got what they meant. I also made a discovery about Stephen King, the novelist: when he starts one of his novels he has no idea how it will end.

Now, I just start to write and see where it goes. New thoughts arrive as I type and I more frequently have to cut out large parts of what I've written to make an article readable, where in the past I've struggled to pad one out.

Hi Paul, Good stuff, did not know that about Stephen King, I'll practice some of that Thanks again

Yeah Mike, I do find it kind of difficult most of the time, and to top it a little more yet, I have not practiced my English for many, maaannnyyyy years, so many doubts come to my head wether some (many) mistakes may show up, since this is a second language to me.
However, I will have to overcome this pretty soon, as well as other issues, since there will be no way for me to get ahead on this journey.
Kyle´s remarks below kind of make me feel it will be easier if I treat the subject as he suggests. Thanks for bringing this topic to my attention.

Hi Alvaro, this is a great place to learn, I look forward to picking up many ideas here
Thank you

And in regards to writing an article, it can be tough if you look at it like you are writing an article. That is why I simply don't look at it that way. I always approach each and every piece of content that I write like I am "talking" to someone. I write in a way that speaks to them and in a way that is ME.

In other words, write like yourself and write in a way that you would speak to someone that you were trying to help if you sent them an email. Don't look at it like some elusive English essay.

Just wanted to let you know that I noticed this within the top header of your website:

Thanks Kyle for the info on my web page, you lead me right to the fault, thanks again
