Building Upon A Strong Foundation
Rock Guy vs. Sand Man
There is a story in the Bible about two men who built houses. One built his house on sand. The other man, he built on a rock.
The rock foundation house builder guy spent some time digging deep, through the sand, until he hit the solid rock. Meanwhile, the sand man had his house frame and walls already up and was feeling pretty good about life.
At this point, it appeared that the rock foundation house builder guy wasn't getting it done. Spending too much time finding the rock, setting the foundation, doing all the things that needed to be done for the house he's building to withstand the rigors of nature.
It appears sand man used his carpentry skills to knock out this project so he could get paid and head on to the next one.
Then the storm came. Sand man's house didn't make it. Rock guy, however - his persistence paid off. The house he built stood through the storm.
Not about the house but the rock at the bottom
I confess, I almost missed this. When I started with WA, all I saw was dollar signs and an all expense paid trip to Vegas. I saw a bunch of really nice websites and I wanted mine to look like those ASAP.
I almost went sand man on this project. I really just wanted that fancy website. Done. Now. Didn't care about foundation.
To you and me, digging deep to find that rock foundation is figuring out our niche. It requires some work. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to figure out exactly who your audience is, dig deep. Figure it out. Do your research.
I know all those other guys and gals just started within a few days of you and their sites already have content, nice menu navigation, and a Google ranking. You're still stuck on level one training after 3 weeks.
But dig deep.
Know Thyself.
Digging deep always brings us closer to ourselves. Closer to who we are at our core. It might have been hard for rock guy to see sand man's house get built up while he was still digging through that sand. But I'll bet a couple shekels that RG celebrated a little when his shovel made sparks against that rock.
You won't find your niche until you dig deep and find your rock. Your rock is where your heart is. Your passion, your purpose. Without that, you're building a house that might look good on the outside but is sitting on sand - dollar signs and trips to Vegas.
That house won't stand up to the storm of research, consistency, and quality content. It won't stand up to paying it forward with the WA community. Sand will shift. If your heart isn't in it, dollar signs and Vegas won't hold up your house.
Blessings,
Mike

Well sometimes one can find a niche that he is passionate about, but on the other hand , that niche does not satisfied his financial goal , so it is not easy to find a niche that will complete both financial success and passion.
I used to believe that, Shelly. I would write about your passion long enough for it to connect to financial success. It will happen.
The thing about doing the opposite is that you may gain some financial success but your heart won't be in it, so it won't last.
Go with your passion!
Blessings,
Mike
Well I wish you find your happiness with what you do or not do... the freedom that WA give us, it's my answer to my happiness for the reason that freedom give one the opportunity to choose when to work , where ect... so we can find time to mediated in order to connect with our internal voice to find all the answer that we are looking for so we can enjoy our present more by trying as much as we can and understand that contrast will always excsist as a part of our universe ....
Exactly. I wish you all the best!
