Back To The Future - Using Your Past To Pave The Way Forward

I've hit my first road block. I've been so busy at work and haven't been able to invest much time at all into WA and my business. The small amount of traffic I was getting has dried up and the momentum I built has all but disappeared. I knew it was coming and I had prepared myself mentally for it, yet I am still left feeling frustrated and demoralised as a result.

But hey, I've been here before in my professional career, so I feel confident that I know what to do. And I'm also using some inspiration from one of my favorite films that I watched over the weekend, Back To The Future (BTTF)

I'm using my very own "DeLorean" to go back in time, tap into the past and use my experiences to benefit me in the "future".

Using our past to propel us forward and gain an advantage is a basic learnable skill, but one that we take for granted way too often.

How Can BTTF Help Us At WA?

When we look a little deeper at the stories of the two main characters from BTTF, we can see that there a lot of similarities between them and us (the WA community).

Let's start with Doc Brown aka "Doc". Like all of us at WA, Doc starts out as a budding entrepreneur. His story throughout the franchise, is one of constructing a plan, trial and error, lessons learned and never giving up on his vision.

Doc never failed, because he never gave up! The same rule applies to us, as long as we keep going, we'll reach our destination.

Now the other main character, Marty. Marty's story is also one that we can relate to in so many ways, when we compare our encounters here at WA.

His persistence in the face of adversity and ability to solve problems, is driven by his values and his faith in what he's doing and what he plans to achieve in the future, All traits of successful entrepreneurs.

Putting This Into Action

Looking at our own journeys since joining our co-stars here at WA, we've probably all battled through some adversity at one point or another, endured a lot of trial and error and experienced a heap of problems that have needed solving.

And by tapping into each other's knowledge and strengths, we can be rest assured that no matter what road blocks we encounter in our journeys, we can find a way to navigate them and continue on our journey to success.

What's been your biggest learning curve since starting your journey?

And what problems have you solved with help from your co-starts here at WA?

I have taken my time to learn, and also due to my other commitments, it has been challenging. I am still progressing at my own pace.

it is normal to feel frustrated at times, but a real online business is not built from one day to the next. It takes time.

roadblocks are always going to be there, you just have to maneuver and move on, keep going do not give up.

the great thing here is that you can always go back to training and re-do it if necessary.

all the best to you!

nice article.
Ana

Thanks for taking the time to read through the post Ana.

All the points you raised are true and I'm sure 99% of people who study here at WA will experience them at one point or another.

Wish you all the best with your training!

Hi Mike, the really cool thing is that we are following a process that works and even if we take our foot off the pedal we can easily pick up where we left off.

It can be frustrating but I think that you summed it up when you said we can never fail as long as we never give up.

When it comes to learning curves, there are so many and as we progress there will always be new things to learn, and that can be what maintains the freshness about this journey we are on.

One of the biggest and one that has set me in good stead, is the realization that you are not going to break the internet, by what you do and if you think that you can not then you probably can do it the continued learning curve is learning to back yourself at every turn.

Hi Alex and thanks for reading my post. Very good point about taking our foot off the pedal and picking up where we left off - annoyed I left that one out!

Im definitely enjoying the process of continually learning new things as I progress, but I can't help myself wanting to move quicker!
