As I understand the domain name transfer, I believe you are referring to not the “hosting company”, rather the company in which you purchased the domain from & thereby your becoming the domain “owner” through. Like going to a specific shoe store (xyz shoe store) to buy your boots. And then wanting to go to another totally different shoe store (the better shoe store) so to buy the exact same size & brand of boots.
So here is how I understand it.
Your boots gotta wear out & be offered up on the market before you can purchase from the better shoe store rather than “renewing” @ the xyz shoe store.
Therefore, unless you’re willing to offer up your domain to the world (& wait until your domain contract has expired @ the xyz shoe store), then I’d stick with the xyz shoe store for said domain. Any new domains, go with the better shoe store.

As for the transferng of your contents from one host company to another (WA), well, as I see it, should be not a problem. Yet, it could be the way WA is set-up via . . . . . Therefore, I do see this as an internal Q that you’d need to approach the WA admin. on.

I could be wrong in all of this, yet this is from my direct & indirect experience.
