Is Google levelling the Playing Field
I am sure many of you have noticed the way Google is displaying pages on an infinite scroll with "People also ask" sections in amongst the search queries.
I am guessing the competition to make the top 10 on page 1 was just becoming so ridiculous that Google decided to let the public make their choice.
Of course being at the top end of the page in amongst the sponsored posts still has its advantages, and of course the keyword is still king, but a catchy headline which may have been at the bottom of page 2 now has a better chance of catching someone's eye.
As much as I have been cursing Google over in the past year (not so much here, I keep my curses private... mostly).
One issue is my GSC now shows up in Spanish.
I need to have a chat with them about that. I can be hard to please sometimes.
I feel this is a good move that will solve many of the problems between Google and us Bloggers, and levels the playing field between those who use, and those who don't use AI.
There are exciting times ahead I think and to think a month, 6 weeks ago I could have easily have packed up and walked away, and actually I was still giving it serious consideration a bit over a week ago.
Early last week my impressions were about couple of hundred, and one keyword in the top 100 of whatever niche it is in.
I never looked to closely at GSC ( I was just doing a submission and heading over to Bing), today but my impressions are back above 3 million and my average ranking is 38 or using Googles new term.... Middle!
Enjoy the rest of the day/evening where ever you may be.
Michael.

I think the scrolling results (versus paging) does open up opportunity for people beyond the first 3. I find myself scrolling deeper to find things that I am looking for, further down than ever. Google is not only providing better content, but they are providing us a better environment to perform research. :)
I think so too Kyle,
The good info was not always on page one, and it was (still is on some sites), easy to get tired of clicking next page if you are searching for something specific.
Michael.
I am not sure about that, Michael! I could be wrong, but it might do more harm than good!

Unintended consequences Jeffrey? You are probably right.
I am sure there will be some.
Others with more experience than I may cast some light on them.
These are interesting times we live in, and not all is sunlight and cool breezes.

Some good points here, Michael, and some stuff I didn't know.
Thanks
Bux
I'm finding it more user friendly Dave.
