A Health Warning.or Should I say a Wealth Warning.

I have to assume that as you are reading this blog, that you are looking to improve your lifestyle. After all, you wouldn't have joined Wealthy Affiliate unless this was the case. So, congratulations are in order...you are doing something that a lot of people would like to do, but for whatever reason never made it happen. Perhaps they are not as brave as you, or maybe they spend their time listening to others.

Which brings me nicely to a health warning or should I say a wealth warning?

When others see or hear what you are up to (i.e., trying to better yourself) the great majority will suddenly become experts on every subject under the sun. Let me list a few of the comments that will more than likely come your way.

"You're too young"

If you don't start when you want to, when will you start? Are your friends really suggesting that you should wait until some undefined date in the future before you put your first step on the ladder to success? If you ask them precisely when you should start, you will get a wishy-washy answer about "giving it a couple of years". If you push them further, there is a good chance that they will simply become irritable and walk away. The only reason that they will do this is because they can't answer your question. In other words, they can't back up their statement with facts.

"You're too old"

In other words, you should have started on a new lifestyle years ago. when you were young and inexperienced. That way you could have made your mistakes while learning, and still have had years ahead of you to rectify things. Your friends will of course conveniently overlook the fact that you can now bring a wealth of life experiences to the party. In my opinion this is priceless. When pushed into a corner, don't be surprised if their response is similar to the "too young" scenario.

"Wait for a better time"

This is a roundabout way of saying we are in a recession. You should wait until things settle down, or until after the next General Election. That way, according to your friends, you will be sure to succeed. My only response to this would be to suggest they have been reading too many newspapers or watching television to such an extent that they actually believe what they are told! The truth is that there is no perfect time as laid down by some faceless politician. When was the last time you heard a government spokesman pat us all on the back, tell us that things are going so well that they won't need to ask us for more money? Apart from the lead up to an election, the answer is never. The only correct time to start on a new journey is when you want to.

"You haven't had the right education"

Unlike certain industries, a minimum educational qualification isn't necessary to enjoy and succeed in the Affiliate Marketing world. Success comes down to you, the individual rather than how many paper qualifications you hold. Believe me, I have worked with some educated idiots who have scraped by in life. Equally, I have worked with some rough diamonds (some would go so far as to say they were dense) and yet they have earned a fortune. So as a rule, don't worry about formal qualifications.

"You don't have enough talent"

This is linked to education and your mental attitude. Again, don't worry. Provided you work to your utmost ability, and always give 100% you will overcome any shortfall in ability. You can do a lot with what you have. My advice is simply to watch the training classes as many times as you need and then implement what you learn. This isn't a race...take as long as you need to get there.

"You fail at everything you do"

As far as I'm concerned. I've had more failures than successes! In fact, I don't know anyone who doesn't fall into that category. Some of life's most successful entrepreneurs have got it wrong time and time again before finally achieving what they set out to do. The only difference between them and Mr and Mrs Average is that they didn't give up. And neither should you.

Why the above happens

Why do you think your friends and family are so quick to offer their advice? The reality is that they are just a little afraid. Afraid that if you do succeed in carving out a new lifestyle, they may lose you. They are quite likely to be jealous of your success (although they won't admit it) and start to believe that they are not good enough to stay in your circle of acquaintances. This is if course nonsense, but we humans are strange creatures.

The choice is yours. You can either listen to their "expert knowledge" or you can move forward.

So true. Must be self-motivated (sadly - it would be nice to have family and friends be encouragers).

A great read Michael and all so very true my friend!

Thanks for the share and enjoy your weekend!

These are all true, When I started three years ago, I heard just about every excuse in the book. They want to know where I get my money to pay my bills three years after I was unable to work a regular job due to health issues in April 2022.

I tell them, "Remember when you all told me that blogging for profit was worthless, wasting my time, or all those excuses you told me? "Well", I ignored every one of your negative comments and started blogging anyway. " My hard work and consistency are paying my bills and allowing me to take vacations that everyone told me to stay away from."

Sadly, we will hear these excuses every day! When we hear these excuses, most of the time the ones commenting like this are looking for a get-rich-quick scheme that is a pure scam with empty promises.
