How long have you been "Afraid" of this?
To answer my own question, I have been "afraid" for quite a while. I have always played it safe. I was always the good kid in school and did all my homework. I always jumped to my mother's side when she called my name or asked for help. I always played nice and shared.
Although there was nothing wrong with what I mentioned above, I was afraid to do things that I wanted to do. I was not a bad kid by nature but I always admired the bravery of those who did what they wanted. I did what I thought would make my mother proud and what it was to be considered a " good kid."
But I was too afraid to take...........RISKS!
I had always equated RISK with FAILURE. Good kids were not supposed to fail.
But I am an adult now. If you could not tell, all that I said before is in past tense. I did not understand being "ME", if that makes any since. I have decided that this is my time to shine, take risk, and most importantly see what I'm capable of. Playing it safe keeps you in that mode being a "people pleaser." Although I am not selfish, I want more for myself. I want "ME" to be developed.
Today, I became a Premium member with Wealthy Affiliates. Today, I have made a decision to become a better business owner. Today, I have made a priceless investment in myself. Today, I have decided to diminish my fear of going to the next level.
I used to pass up value but not TODAY.
If you were anything like me, you lived your life being "ordinary." But if you are anything like me now, you are extraordinary. You and I are worth the risk.
So, today, I'm proud to say that I AM MICAELA AND I AM NO LONGER AFRAID OF RISK, FAILURE, AND SUCCESS, IN THE PURSUIT OF MY DREAMS.

Sounds like you visited my dreamchasersgo site, believe in yourself and you will succeed...(:oi)
Great post! I totally understand what you mean. You're not being selfish to want more for yourself. Life is too short to do what you think would make others happy all the time since it seems people never are completely happy and you're only making yourself miserable. Just because you take a "risk" doesn't mean you'll fail.
You could succeed or yes, you might not, but there really is no such thing as failure if you learn from your past mistakes and use that knowledge to do something different the next time so you will succeed. Keep on trying and failure is not an option, just a learning experience. The only ones that fail are those that never try or those that give up and quit if they don't succeed.
Keep up the great attitude and you'll go far! :)
