I am in appearance>widgets trying to drag and drop and i can't. Instead of grabbing the item and dragging it, it's just highlighting everything...getting very frustrated... a
I really don't know what the problem is.... I use chrome and just to be sure, i tried explorer... i tried a desk top and a lap top, and yeah... i cannot drag and drop. its the first roadblock i have faced here where i cannot figure it out. ugh.
It isn't an issue with Wordpress, most likely with your browser or an add on for your browser that you have installed. Try a different browser or make sure the one you are using is up to date.
alright, i don't mean to sound ignorant but the browser I am using is google chrome...is that what you mean? try something else like firfoxe or something?

Perhaps it is theme related? Have you looked it up at word press to see if others report it? I have not used drag and drop so not sure at the moment. Just keep at it and the answer will come.
I'm starting to think it really is theme related since I can drag and drop other things on my computer. Thanks so much!

I am using a plug in (easy adsense) to put my ads into my post. It just puts a big old box right in the middle of my post and i can't figure out how to get it over by the menu o
You don't need a plugin for adsense, I started off using one and it was more trouble than it was worth.
To put your Adsense in the side widget go to Appearance - Widgets
Choose the "text" widget and add. Paste your Adsense code into the text box and save.
If you want to place within your content, go to the text tab, scroll to the area where you want the ad, then paste the code.
Initially all you'll see is a blank square till Google populates the ad, this is normal.
If you need these instructions in more detail just shout! :)
Thanks, I appreciate it... I was trying this method also but for some reason, I cannot drag and drop anything inside of my WordPress back end. No idea why. I cannot fix it at all. Tried for hours last night...different computers, changed browsers, everything. So, the plug in is the only way I can get the ads in.
This helped me out as I had problems with the adsense plug in as it would place banners in my header all set now though thank you
There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to copy and paste in Wordpress Margie. Anytime I've had issues like this its been a plugin that's caused the problem. Might be an idea to do a process of elimination with your plugins?
Still shouldn't be an issue, again, I would check plugins. What theme are you using, I can try adsense code on my theme test site, see if I have same problem
I don't know if this will help but go to your plug ins and go to adsense and click on settings and see if you have options of where you can place the ad hope this helps I'm sure someone with more experience will be along good luck

Need help with adsense please?

So, my latest post is on page 12 in google, which i am actually happy to see but i did notice that my result shows my website name as the header and then my article in the body.
Reading thru this discussion is providing all of us, newbies, good info and knowledge how the online environment and its perimeters process our websites! We hope to get there where you are! Thanks for sharing your expertise, Christabelle and BMark! Will follow you two!
I have seen Google do this occasionally to my pages and post as well! I actually think it may be a reflection of them choosing to list the article as they see it will rank best, but that is just a thought, I have nothing to base that on!
I wouldn't worry about how your posts or pages are ranked in google. The reality is you are not going to get ranked for every page and post. The more content you have out there the better. You will get ranked assuming you do your keyword research right. Just keep producing good quality content and don't worry about rankings. Your content will get shared through social media (likes, tweets ect) thus giving you traffic to your site and your site getting ranked in the search engines. Social engagement on your site (comments) helps as well.

How my posts appear in google?
So, my latest post is on page 12 in google, which i am actually happy to see but i did notice that my result shows my website name as the header and then my article in the body.

When I hit "quick edit" to update my admin to my name on posts and pages, nothing happens?
It should pop open a drop down menu. It may just be a slow response. If you've tried the basic stuff like refreshing page, trying in a new browser or rebooting your computer; I'd put in a ticket with technical support. They're quick to respond too, if you haven't used them yet. :)
So, weird thing, the menu won't drop and i didn't change anything but, it did change my pages and posts author to my name. Soooo...don't know how but oh well, it happened! Thanks so much for the responses :)
It shoild expand to give you more options for you. I have no idea why it is not doing this for you.
