My Standards for Affiliate Marketing
Here are my standards for affiliate marketing:
1. Every product I endorse must be something I have tried myself. The only possible exception is when it is rather obvious that what you get is what you see.
2. Every product I endorse must be something I would honestly recommend, for some audience or another. I must be allowed to list pros and cons.
3. Every affiliate marketing deal must be one that encourages a proper review -- giving me the free tools that I need. I must also be encouraged to maintain an honest comment thread.
4. Any affiliate advertiser who encourages laziness -- rather than proper ethic -- is a deal breaker for me.
To join the most reputable affiliate marketing programs, it is clear that I must build some good reputation myself. It may also limit my pool to only a few programs.
Affiliate marketing at its best is where people are paid to do proper reviews of the products. At its worst, it is a scammy method of getting false endorsements.
If an affiliate advertiser is honestly trying to build their reputation, then they must require some hoops to jump through.
In the meantime, I am trying to build my own traffic. Level 3 will have to take a pause until I know much better what I am doing.

Great guidelines you have set for yourself and the affiliates you endorse. It is highly advisable to have such guides to keep your site reputable. Great Job.
