Indoctrination refers to the confession people are made to believe that what is being said is uncontroversial. This refers to the message which cannot be questioned or discussed. Indoctrination could be ideological, religious, economical, political. In indoctrination other ideologies, religions, economies and politics are discriminated against, that is one cannot ask, argue or discuss any ideology, religion, economy and politics except the one being confessed.

Questions, arguments and discussions will only be directed to the ideologies, economies, religions and politics confessed. Indoctrination like confessional ism does not promote attitudinal change, no concepts and skills acquired, people are not autonomous, their rational thinking are inhibited. The right to chose alternative politics, religion, ideology and economy to affiliate to is not permissible

There is no transmission of information about different cultures if the indoctrination is political, people believe that what authority is saying cannot be questioned nor discussed, Indoctrination is practiced in some parts of the world. No concepts and skills are learnt, people are passive recipients of the information that they cannot question.

Very interesting.

MGnaga,
Great blog Wow!! I like the religious part. How does indoctrination factor in? As a Christian we have oftentimes been accused of people being indoctrinated against. But When I attend bible study session I'm free to question anything, free to discuss and argue as a believer. As a believer i freely choose to become one, and am free to leave if i again choose so.Do you think, at least for the Christian faith, indoctrination plays a major factor? What do you think?
Again thanks for a great write.

Good reply! Noting the full impact to indoctrinate, teaching (someone) to fully accept the ideas, opinions, and beliefs of a particular group and to not consider other ideas, opinions, and beliefs, I'd say yes and no to your question for two reasons. From my perspective, as a Pastor humbly well learned in God's word, I no longer consider other beliefs, other than out of respect. The second reason, is what is distinct about Christian scientist for example, versus, say evolutionist scientists is that Christians don't care what the evidence presents as it will never be able to discredit the Christian faith/foundation; this is not the case for evolutionists :).

But the followers must understand why you don't consider other beliefs

Great Blog , thank you.

Mgnaga: Thank you for your great post. Yours words of wisdom should remind us to be mindful of what we say. We do not need to become so passive that we willingly become "mouth pieces" for the indoctrinators.

I live this at my job everyday.

Well you have to teach them something, might as well be the same load of BS we were taught.

We have indoctrination right here in Canada and the United States, thanks to a well financed conglomerate Media; people believe the speeches of rubber numbers as true regarding the statistics of employment (JOB system is still working--of course it is)...or for that matter, same goes for the numbers being propagated around the cancer cash-cow successes...conveniently leaving out the very common 5 year window. Caution, I know...however, I'd just as soon say it as think it...a serious problem I have...or is that, choice I make? :)

Well said, and I agree.

So true. I would like to emphasize also parental indoctrination. Possibly the worst form of all. Glyn.

This is true in many countries.
