Importance of assessment
Assessment ascertains weaknesses and strengths of an individual. This means that an individuals problems in performance targets will be established and helped accordingly. Areas of problems will be identified and solved.
Assessment is also determined to assess the extent to which objectives have been achieved by an individual in a particular subject. This means that before going any further with other tasks given you have to make sure you have really understood the objective, if not you have to revisit it and make sure you grasp it then you can go ahead. Assessment can be used to diagnose an activity in order to assist and guide individuals. Here individuals performance is monitored especially mastery of concepts. The latter must be mastered before you go to the next level.
Assessment helps to identify individuals potentials in certain specialised aspects then helped to go further with them. Validity and reliability are used in assessment. If individuals do well in your subject or course they will have trust and rank it high which will result in good relationship in terms of world of work.

Good post! I use these principles as I go through the training courses here at WA. I don't just "go through the motions" and move on, I want to full grasp and understand (and eventually master) the material to the best of my ability before I take the next step. I'm a firm believer in building a strong foundation first.

I have used similar strategies in my engineering life namely SWOT chart Analysis for individual performance that can also be applied to any assessment function. It can also be applied to any type of problem.

I found this type of analysis on complex engineering problems very useful when given a brainstorming session it certainly brought people into focus when the going got tough and really highlighted the priorities.
