Yeah, I did use the internet marketing four letter word. I do apologize for my language. You see, I have recently been focused on internet marketing since January 2014. However, I have been working to make money online since October of 2012. I started out in the Real Estate Investing Niche. This niche requires a lot of work online and offline. It is definitely a full time job. I had enrolled in many programs, attended seminars, actually bird dogged for several investors. Doing all the hard work to no avail. Created two websites and let them sit as I had no content. In fact, it was a Real Estate Guru that introduced me to Affiliate Marketing in that he has digital products that he promotes.

I used one of my websites to promote his products, yet I was still at a disadvantage, I had no clue how to and no money to advertise. Plus I was absolutely lost on how to build a website. I took a few months to sit back and re-evaluate my over all strategy. I began doing paid surveys, I did get paid but it was too much effort and to little reward, I just don't enjoy doing surveys. I took a few more months, New Years 2014 rolls around, my resolution, keep moving forward, focus on affiliate marketing, so I did. So many programs saying they are the next big thing. Throw money at this program, just so you can be sold again. I did this, I spent enough money to finally figure out how to advertise. This is what I was told, pay us $100 for a small amount of leads. "Aha", I said, "I have been duped again." So, I told myself, there has to be a better way and that if it isn't free, I'm not doing it. Oh, btw, the previous fiasco cost me a total of $350.00. Well, I met a few more people that wanted to sell me stuff, but had some value for free. Yes, free e books, these are designed to give you a little information, but not the whole picture, however, different gurus give out different information, so if you get enough together, you start to figure things out. I was still spinning my wheels.

One day it came to me in an email, I thought to myself, oh God, how much does this guy want from me. To my surprise, the author of the email told me that he knew exactly how I felt being ripped off by all these so called gurus. Okay, this guy has been down the road I am traveling, with my finger on the delete trigger, I read on. He told me that he does not want my money, that I can put my wallet away, no credit card required. I was intrigued, okay, I'll click on your link and see what this is all about.

Turns out, this was a 4 step program that showed me how I could make money online with $0 out of pocket cost. I chose to do the steps in the program, I almost got in my own way when I saw where the money was coming from, seemed gimmicky to me, but low and behold I continued on, completed my steps, learned free ways to advertise, advertised and made $25.00 with very little effort. I was so excited that I took a picture of my PayPal account to show my friends and family. But then everything stopped, I was getting several referrals, but none were doing the requirements that would earn me money. Back to the drawing board.

I met another guy who said that he made $710,000 in 28 days. I listened to him and followed his free program, had to invest in a program that paid 100% commission, but it cost $20 just to be an affiliate. I got paid $20 before personal matters got in the way and I had to stop paying for this program. However, I did learn from this guy that the "secret" to his success was that he had a mentor who taught him what to do, and he did everything his mentor told him. Another aha moment, I told myself that the only way that I will see the success that I want out of this business is two fold. 1) I must look at this as a business(another thing this person taught me) and 2) I NEED A MENTOR!

So, I went back to promoting my original gimmicky program using list mailers, aka traffic exchanges, basically you earn credits by viewing ads that you can use to promote your product. I knew that I needed a mentor, but the most affordable that I could find wanted $10,000 just for the privilege of being able to email him once a week. There has to be a better way, I told myself, so I continued with the best product that I knew of out there. Then one night it happened, I came across a page that I would usually just pass by. Something told me, go ahead and read this, see what she has to say, it was different, unique, not something that I was used to seeing. I read her content which spoke about not only one mentor, but a whole community of million dollar earners just waiting to help me out and are so generous that they would let me have access to them for free for 7 days, I could ask any question that I wanted to ask. I was stoked, I gotta check this out!

I did just that and it was the absolute best decision that I have ever made. Not only did I have access to these mentors, I also had access to an educational platform that I have seen others charge $25,000 for, and what is better, Kyle, one of the co founders didnt play any games, he said straight up that you can have complete access to all of this for $47 a month. I told myself, being broke at the time, I will find a way to make this happen for me. I had 7 days to access a discounted rate of $19 for the first month, I paid that $19 as soon as I could, I did this for three reasons, 1) It gave me full access to everything and everyone, 2) I had my first guest on the first day that I promoted WA, 3) This is my business, if I expect my guests to sign up and upgrade, I better be upgraded myself.

I was so glad I did, my second campaign, my first as an upgraded member, brought me 4 more invites, WA aka Wealthy Affiliate is the absolute best program on the internet today. I have stopped promoting every other program that I have in order to exclusively promote this one. There are many reasons why, but the one that I want to focus on here is mentor-ship:

Pros:

Has made a lot of money online

Works one on one with client

Cons:

Charges $10,000 up to $25,000

Often delegates to others with a script

Is available once or twice a week for one on one work

2) Multiple mentors

Pros:

Free to get started for 7 days, $19 for first month, $47 per month after, discount for yearly payment

Available 24/7

Working with others in the industry, real people helping real people

Cons:

Not always the same person mentoring you
