Howdy! Finished first blog post
Hey friends,
I just finished my first blog post which was really mind-blowing. It took hours, or to be more honestly, a couple of days. Since English isn't my first language, it was really difficult but I would never give up, so I fought my way through all the writing stuff. Now I'm a little bit proud of the result.
I additionally changed the theme to "Travelify" and modified the menu to use categories only (except the about me and privacy policy pages). Then I registered myself as an affiliate on a hotel booking site and created a search box which I integrated immediately.
What do you think of what I've done so far?

I went to your website and it looks great. I like the theme. I am sure it will work fine. One recommendation I have is to put your privacy policy in the footer and not in your main navigation. It is not a page that people will want to visit on a regular basis if at all. So just at the bottom of your website will be good.
Have you tried signing up with Booking.com. They are a pretty good company to affiliate with and easy to join. Another idea is there is a plugin called TravelPayouts which is also an affiliate company. You install the plugin and everything will be integrated into your website. and the widgets they have for you are really nice looking and can be customized very easily.

Thank you so much for your great recommendations! I followed some of your tips as well and replaced the hotelscombined searchbox by the one from booking.com. I realized that hotelscombined only pays 2 $ per lead whereas booking.com pays a commission between 25 to 40 % which seems to be a LOT. I moved the Privacy Policy link to the footer as proposed. I didn't know TravelPayouts but I'll give it a try.

As a person who's "awake" to what is happening world-wide, I turned cable off 3 years ago and began the journey of self-educating on world events via YouTube and other online venue's so am aware of what is happening in Europe and especially Germany,,, my line of ancestry,,, I am impressed with your site as it showcases the good side of things.
If I ever have the op to visit another country, Germany is my first choice of destination - I will surely take your commentary with me!

Looking good! Here's a little tip...you probably already know about but you can use Google Translate (just Google it to find it) if you want to get the translation in any language. I use it a lot when communicating with people who don't speak English and have a perfectly normal conversation with them and I don't even know 1 word in the language they speak. It translates from any language to any other language. It's real simple to use.
