So where do I begin?

I graduated in December 2015 from college. I had a lot of trouble finding a job even after having several accounting and auditing internships under my belt. I finally got one 3 months after graduating college. I worked in a temp/hire position with a large government contractor and was laid off three days later due to the client's financial difficulties. Then I started my new job and was fired 6 months later for various reasons. Got another contract job only to be laid off three days later. Then got another job in January only to be laid off a month and a half later.

Jobs are in many ways a hopeless endeavor as you will be on life support with no one really caring about you except when it is convenient. I actually bought another affiliate marketing program (inbox blueprint) but think it was a huge mistake. I suppose you have to lose some in order to gain some and win.

Beyond this, about my hobbies. I love to play billiards, chess, bridge racquetball, weight lifting, going out to my favorite Chinese restaurants and staying at Bed and Breakfasts. Interesting fact; I just live and breathe southern culture and hospitality! It is the best! Hopefully with some hard work, (and support as that has been my biggest obstacle) I will be able to make a nice living while providing much needed value to the world. In many ways, I am suffering from information obesity as there is just TOO MUCH of it! Where do I turn? I think I have said enough.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

@Kyle,

What do you think of the "chess" niche? I was thinking of promoting different chess sets, clocks, pieces, memorabilia while focusing on unorthodox chess openings, middle game, and end game theory.

What do you think?

Sure, you can definitely head in that direction. You could narrow it down to an aspect of the broader category (as you have done) and make that your niche as chess in general may be a little broad.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

To answer your question, I am thinking

"I want to help people that love playing unorthodox chess openings or those who are eager to use them in their games".

Can I do this in addition to promoting chess memorabilia to keep things interesting as well as get those affiliate commissions?

what if there is no QSR with the keywords I am trying to find in Jaaxy? I have that with some of the words I am trying to search. Also, I am having a problem where If I want to go back to a keyword I searched yesterday (because I didn't save it) it decreases the amount of keyword searches I have left before upgrading to premium.

No QSR, means the keyword literally has no "exact" and direct competition.

Keywords are the premise of all of your content. Ideally you will be finding keywords with a lower competition (also known as QSR) because it means that you are going to be competition with less websites in Google when you go to create your content.

You want your keyword to meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be lower than 200 QSR initially, as you get more authority in search engines you can tackle more competitive search terms.
(2) Must get some traffic, I ideally aim for over 50 searches per month
(3) Must make grammatical sense

Once you have your keyword, you are going to create a page or a post on your website targeting that keyword. It should be within the following places in your content:

(1) Somewhere in the page/post title
(2) Somewhere within the first paragraph

And then write your content naturally and make sure it is engaging. People search "keywords" when they are looking for something so as you start getting ranked under these keywords, you are going to start to see traffic.

Once you have traffic...you have a ton of opportunity to generate revenue.

Hope this helps you out Elan!
