Hi everyone,

Everyone has excuses and that's all they really are. If we put our mind to it, we would find a way to make things happen.

Nick Vujicic was born with no arms and no legs.

Do you have both your arms and legs and hands and feet? Do you still have excuses now?

We even have some blind WA members. Can you see?

Nick & Family

Do you have something you call home?

Boy sleeping on the sea wall tonite

When I went for my walk tonite around 1 am, I saw this boy sleeping on the sea wall here in town. Where is his family? Where is his home? This is not an uncommon site to find people sleeping on cardboard of all ages.

Do you still have REAL excuses why you can't accomplish something?

Life isn't about having everything you ever dreamed of and more right now in this moment in time. Do you realize that?

Do you know that even the richest and/or most successful people in the world will one day die? They can't stop that from happening.

I believe that we can become just about anything we want to become if we put our mind to it.

Learn what we don't know and apply it. Keep learning, keep growing and Never Give Up!

So what do you really want for your life while you are still here?

What do you really want for your business(es) while you are here?

Are you willing to do what ever it takes to succeed?

When excuses come to my mind, I think of Nick and those billions of people less fortunate than myself and I get back on track. I will not self sabotage myself.

I've been there and back.

In 1980, I slept in my car for 4 months while holding a part time job during the Great Recession of 1980.

I survived my divorce in 2012, when I lost everything I had worked my life for with the exception of keeping my then small publishing business (less than 50 titles). Now I am re-married and have my beautiful daughter, Melissa Jeane and my loving wife Rowena and I am living on the other side of the world from the USA in the Philippines.

I've seen more than enough tragedies in my lifetime.

I have lived through the powerful earthquake in Japan in 1983, Hurricane Iwa that hit Hawaii in 1982, Super Typhoon Odette in 2021 was the second costliest typhoon in Philippine history. The entire island of Cebu looked like a war zone. We were without basic services for months.

Like the energizer bunny, I take my licks and keep on ticking. :-)

Splash some cold water on your face if you need to Wake Up!

Now are you ready to do whatever it takes to succeed?

To Our Success!

Hi Mel,

I just read your blog post “What’s Holding You Back? Nick Vujicic – My Inspiration” and felt compelled to reach out. Your words struck a deep chord, not only because of the truth and urgency in your message—but because you framed it with raw honesty, lived experience, and love for others.

I’m Leo, an aspiring digital entrepreneur based in Papua New Guinea. I’ve been learning and growing through Wealthy Affiliate, building a vision called Wealthland, where digital storytelling and affiliate marketing are used to empower our local communities—especially those most often overlooked or underserved.

Your reflections on sleeping in a car, surviving natural disasters, and still choosing to move forward… remind me that setbacks don’t define us. The way you wrote about the boy on the seawall reminded me of many in PNG who live between struggle and strength. I see them. I honor them. And I’m doing this work for them too.

I want you to know your story matters out here. It gives me fuel to keep showing up, creating content, supporting others, and learning one step at a time. If you ever feel drawn to connect, I’d be grateful to share more about Wealthland—and to learn more from you.

To our success, and to using our platforms to lift others higher.

With gratitude and respect,
Leo

Its all about the mindset more often than not. Oh how I have been beat up years ago, or so I thought. I was a victim! Took me years to work around that, forgive and move on.

I remember you helping over there after that massive storm tore up many lives and homes in the Philippines. Did you not grab shovels and hammers to help others rebuild?

Helping the homeless here in California is very disappointing to my heart. They have excuses to keep receiving free handouts. Free is never good, but can be used well if the mind behind that hand receiving understands that tomorrow still shows up with or without them.

Here inside of WA is one of the most awesome places online to move up to the east side, big apartment in the sky, so to speak! If one digs in, stops looking at all the shiny things and works on the foundation that is inside of our first lessons here.

Most talk themselves out of winning, it's too hard, takes too long, I'm not getting paid for this, or what I hear often on gigs setting up stages is " Not my Job" .

You can not do that if it is your Business, do it even when you do not feel like it, and most importantly, Keep the promises you made to yourself. You said you're gonna make ten grand a month, well by golly, get in there and create that! For it will never be handed to you, unless you're comfortable with getting just enough to get halfway through the day.

Stop settling and start creating!

Thanks for sharing Scott!

I didn't help rebuild, but I did grab my hand saw to slowly clear trees off of the highway to restore traffic from one lane both ways to normal 2 lane traffic. :-)

Hi Mel, i grow up in the Philippines. I know how hard it is the life there. The good thing i remember is... even there is no food, no house,no lights, no basic services for months. The people there keeps on going, and keeps on starting their lives.... they dont have time for excuses. 🥰🥰🥰.

Right on, Mel! That's exactly how I feel. And, when I'm feeling stalled, I think of the less fortunate, like the quadriplegic I used to see going to his job every day. 👍💪

Excellent Jeff. Yes if we just only focus on ourselves we can lose touch with what's really happening around us.

I know I focus too much on myself a lot, mostly because of the pain, but I’ve been working on developing an attitude of gratitude. For the most part I’ve had an easy life. Parents that loved me. Able to get an education even if it took me 25plus years. I’ve always had the money to eat, have a place to live, a vehicle to drive and loving sisters and my beautiful daughter and her family and a job that gives me a decent retirement. My only big challenge at this point is health issues and I’m working hard to endure and succeed inspite of those issues. -Shirley

That's a lot to take within' the last 40 plus years, Mel.

As the saying goes, keep on trucking and hold your head up high and know you can do it. 💪🦾
