Seeing Is Believing - Seeing My 1st Volcano Eruption
(Cover Photo: Mt Kanlaon Volcano spewing ash)
Hi everyone,
There's something about seeing something with my own eyes compared to seeing something on the screen. It makes it more real some how.
Here it pic again with Melissa Jeane swimming in the ocean in the foreground.
Fortunately, the wind does not blow over to us and its quite a distance away if it exploded.
Its about as close as I would want to get to it.
I remember back in the late 1970's, Mt St Helens erupted in Washington State while I was living in Denver, Colorado and cars were covered with a layer of ash in the morning. Amazing.
So that was my treat for today.

I'm glad you could see from a safe distance, Mel. Luckily the ashes on the cars can be swept away. 🧹

Cool but scary! Makes me think of the Yellowstone super volcano.
My first encounter was with a tornado when I was at sailing camp in Manitoba. When the skies started to turn green we knew what was coming. It was so ominous but we watched as long as we could to see her big show! It was all good in the end by the way. Nothing was done irresponsibly.
I'm glad all is well where you are!
