ChatGPT Projects

Hi Everyone,

One thing I use ChatGPT Projects for to save time and stay informed is you can create Briefings.

So I set up a Project for it to give me a daily Longetivity Brief. It searches the internet and gives me the brief each morning. Saves me time and sometimes there is useful info. You can do this with anything. This is what it looks like:

Longevity Briefing — August 4
1. Very short strength sessions may still produce meaningful gains
Evidence: small human intervention; adults age 65+, 12 weeks. A Penn State-led study found that a brief daily resistance routine—about four minutes—improved several mobility and strength measures. The important message is not that four minutes is “optimal,” but that older adults can benefit from a very small, repeatable dose.
Takeaway: your mini boot camp can count. A few controlled chair sit-to-stands, wall push-ups, calf raises, or light resistance movements performed consistently are better than waiting for a perfect long workout. Increase gradually and avoid straining or breath-holding while BP is being managed.
2. Strength training and longevity: encouraging, but observational
Evidence: large prospective observational analysis; 147,374 mostly female adults followed up to 30 years. Around 90–119 minutes weekly of resistance training was associated with lower all-cause, cardiovascular, and neurological mortality. Combining aerobic and resistance activity showed the strongest association. Because participants self-reported activity, this cannot prove that lifting caused the longer survival.
Takeaway: walking plus modest strength work remains a sensible combination. There is no need to pursue two hard hours weekly; consistency, safety, and preserved function matter more.
3. Walking immediately after eating: promising, but one recent study was tiny
Evidence: randomized crossover experiment; only 12 healthy young adults. Ten minutes of comfortable walking immediately after a glucose drink reduced the two-hour glucose response and peak glucose compared with sitting. However, participants were young, the “meal” was 75 grams of glucose rather than ordinary food, and the test occurred indoors at 22–24°C.
Takeaway for you: a gentle 5–10-minute indoor walk after meals is practical and low-risk, but this particular study does not directly prove the same effect in a 68-year-old man with hypertension. Tropical heat adds no benefit—use the house or air conditioning.
Fasting
No new convincing human evidence today demonstrates longer lifespan from fasting. Human longevity benefits remain unproven, not disproven. At your age, fasting should not compromise protein intake, hydration, muscle, energy, or BP stability.
Sunlight and vitamin D
I found no new tropical study today reporting sample size, measured UV dose, time of day, minutes outdoors, clothing, exposed skin area, and blood vitamin-D response well enough to guide someone already walking for hours in Philippine sunlight. Northern-population deficiency findings are not a reason to increase your exposure.
Bottom line: today’s clearest opportunity is small, consistent strength work combined with walking, including easy movement after meals. The greatest practical risk remains overdoing exercise in heat or treating lifestyle measures as a substitute for responding to persistently high BP.
