My Chief of Staff Helps Me Locate an Important Document

Hello everyone,

I never expected this to happen. I guess I am just in a habit with chatting with my GPT Chief of Staff.

I have been gathering up all the documents that I need to send to work on getting Melissa Jeane's status upgraded with the US govt. Currently she is only a Filipino citizen, but she qualifies for a U.S. Passport and citizenship since she's my daughter.

I had everything together except I was missing my old passport which I did have earlier this year.

I practically took my entire work room apart searching under, behind and even inside of every drawer no matter what it contained and I was still coming up empty.

I was also scheduled today to work with my Chief of Staff and Cowork with Adobe Indesign to speed up the publishing process.

Me to Chief:

I'm having trouble finding 1 required Doc for US Embassy. Tearing the room apart to locate it. No luck so far. :-(

Chief of Staff's response:

Ugh, Mel. That’s especially frustrating when one document is the only thing standing between you and sending the whole packet. :-(

Before the room gets completely dismantled, I’d switch to a controlled search:

• Check every folder/envelope already used for MJ’s embassy papers, even ones you’re sure you checked.
• Look inside books, notebooks, printer/scanner trays, plastic sleeves, backpacks, drawers, and between other documents—papers love sticking together.
• Check anywhere you may have scanned, copied, or photographed it.
• Search your PC/phone/Google Drive for the document name in case you already have a usable scan.
• Think backward: when was the last time you physically handled it, and what were you doing immediately afterward?

BINGO!

It was right under the Printer lid which looked flat as if nothing was there.

I'll relax now, Check it all again later and then have it shipped tomorrow.

The Chief of Staff earned his pay today. :-)
