If You Want To Be More Successful Then Marketing Is a Must Do

I honestly do not want to know the amount of $$$ I have let slip through my hands, because I did not market my published titles.

That's on me. When I previously owned a Flooring Sales & Service business in the USA, I advertised via Radio, newspapers and even flyers along with other methods.

I also built up a solid reputation which created word of mouth advertising.

So for me to think I could just publish a book or books and expect Amazon or Lightning Source to do the work of advertising for me was foolish to say the least.

I also honestly was held back because I didn't want to throw away money trying to advertise and failing to achieve the results.

Well failing to market our products and/or business is a Guaranteed way to fail or severely limit the results.

Its taken me many years publishing books to realize this. I'm glad I have finally woken up.

There are millions of titles available on Amazon. How can we expect people to find ours?

In my only defense at least with public domain titles, the Author and Title can already be widely known and sought after.

But I can promise you that any of my original content that I have written attracts crickets.

In Mid December 2025, I started really advertising with Amazon Ads and I am pleased with the results.

I do have to monitor my Ads Campaigns daily and pause them if all I am doing is paying for clicks with no sales. Its also possible to improve that campaign to perhaps get sales.

All the extra income I have received, I would never have received if I did not do Amazon Ads. That's what helped wake me up.

ChatGPT and I have identified the next 100 titles we are going to run Amazon Ads Campaigns with starting with a few at a time and continue to build it up.

Its amazing the amount of specific info we can get from Amazon about our sales and my history with that sales info goes back to 2009.

My top selling title of all time isn't a book, its a 3 page ebook. Who would have known?

I'm able to see the royalties income from the top performers all the way through my titles.

I can see the list of top orders all the way through my list and that can be different from royalties.

Yes, there are lots of organic ways to get the word out there about your business, products, service and/or website.

But if you really want to be earning more income and isn't that the reason we are doing this to begin with, then we need to be marketing in some way, shape or form.

We don't have to spend big to experiment with this.

My Amazon Ads Campaigns have an $8 a day limit and none of them have ever reached that limit in a day AND I can pause them instantly any time I need to.

So unless you just have a hobby then lets find ways to better promote what we do.

I am finally all in doing that.
