What's Your Dream?

I follow a lot of what Simon Squibb is doing and its inspirational.

I gave it some thought and we'll be doing this locally.

Here are the stats for the Philippines:

Key Facts on Out-of-School Youth

• Total Number: About 10.7 million individuals aged 5 to 24 are not in formal school.
• Gender Breakdown: About 51.3% are males and 48.7% are females.
• Main Causes: High costs of school supplies, family poverty, and distance to classrooms.

Wen will be soon talking to the Department of Education here locally.

I am going to start taking a portion of my income and we will help fund a Filipino child by paying for their schools supplies and everything they need for a school year. At first we will not include transportation as many will be living close enough to the school to simply walk there. The money will go directly to the school and we'll be able to monitor the program.

Most likely we will continue with each student for the following years until they graduate high school.

Often students stop at Grade 6, because they can not afford to be able to continue.

As my income increases we can add more students.

I've actually done this before back in the 1980's through a U.S. Organization and then on my own I also paid for 2 students to go on and complete college.

This time, I plan to set this up ourselves as it will cost less than giving through some organization.

That's my Dream that we are turning into a reality.
