Linking on my site

hello Im having trouble creating a resources page for my site which is supposed to have external links to relevant breast cancer sites and online support groups. ive used the link option to create a link box in a post but when i publish the page the links dont go to the sites i created them to link to they just stay on my site.

I dont know much about html and the like so could someone point me to some training or other place where i could learn more about linking on my blog?
