A Journey of Passion
I’m not usually much of one for lengthy posts, but I had to share my excitement, something wonderful has happened. First a little background; I arrived at WA at the beginning of March having stumbled upon this site while researching investment and passive income strategies, as I do a fair amount of ETF investing. I signed up – not my first foray into this online world but with days of drop-shipping behind me that just didn’t quite pan out, I was curious about this free training. I’ve thought about blogging for a long time but just didn’t know where to start.
I cruised through the training, soaking in every possible detail; when I start a new venture I go in hungry! This training was awesome and cleared up a lot of questions I’d had in my shopify days. This online community is super rad.
After 2 weeks with my 1st website I was finding writing posts to be like pulling teeth! I didn’t find the research fun (and I love research!), I was having a hard time coming up with topics, but my posts were getting ranked within 48 hours. It was a great feeling but just wasn’t the right fit…now that website sits until I’m ready to pick it up again because after those 2 weeks I was struck by sudden inspiration, I got excited and moved on to website number 2!
I have such a clear vision for this one of what I want it to be and the community for which I’m writing. I set up google alerts related to my topic which I highly recommend. I find the research interesting and fun. I stopped banging my head against a wall trying to hit 1k words and started mixing posts, I do a couple short 200-400-word news update type of posts and try once a week to write a longer one as well – which for me is only about 800 words. I find 1k to be a daunting task.
I have been doing a lot of product linking through amazon associates, my AdSense integration has been pending for like a week, but I think it was approved (unlike the almost immediate disapproval on my first site) and I have an account with media.net which I still don’t fully get…
I’ve been focusing mostly on amazon since it’s the mogul that it is and I’m an avid online shopper that frequents amazon at least weekly (yes, I may have a problem, but I’m sure bloggers everywhere love me 😉).
Yesterday I checked my media.net account and I made my first dollar! $1.55 USD to be precise, who would ever think they would get so excited about pocket change? I wanted to share this with you because of a few reasons. My excitement of course, but because I had read or watched something at some point that said it would probably take 6 months to make any money and then it’ll be like coffee money and will typically take over a year to make any real money. That may be true, but I just made my first dollar after 19 days.
Also, if what you have going is hard, be open to that sudden inspiration if it strikes, don’t be afraid to start a new journey, you just might find a passion, and with passion, this journey is so much more fulfilling.

Yes, absolutely can relate to your post.
I have had a similar experience ,except I do love writing my blogs, for me this is the easy bit.
But yesterday I had a lightbulb moment too and think that I may be starting a 2nd website soon.
Best of luck
Louise
That's so exciting! I'm not totally giving up on my first site but I've definitely decided to focus on beefing up the content on site #2 for now. Best of luck to you too!
