Depends on how you want to lay your site out. Do you want people to find details of businesses on a map easily? Do you want to write a magazine type site?
Best thing to do is find other sites that promotes a regional area. Pick a few you like. Chances are some will be on Wordpress. Then use -http://whatwpthemeisthat.com/ - to find the theme they are using.
