*****Resiliency*****

However we come by it, resiliency is that essential quality which enables us to bounce back from life's challenges. The only constant in life is change. Even happy changes can create some adjustment issues. Never has the ability to bounce back been more important, because the speed of change today is faster than it ever was and the pressure to produce and succeed is more intense.

Resilient people are energetically engaged with life. They are persistent and confident. Is this you? I hope so. The ability to spring back from whatever life throws at you is being resilient. Each time you bounce back from a setback, you are strengthening your resiliency. Each time you accept a setback without attempting to come back, you are weakening that resiliency.

Many people are fearful of moving forward. They resist this change. The mind must truly leap over the pause - and into the new challenge. This can be very exciting! Many people feel that once they have made their own "leap" - they look back across the chasm from the other side and marvel at the fear that held them in place...standing still for so long. They report that they now feel strong and vital. Retreating will never make you feel this way.

Do not be discouraged if your own pauses take longer than you wish they would. As long as you have not retreated to old patterns, old ideas, or old behaviors - you have already begun to move on. Moving on...the final step of resiliency....is the process of replacing what you left behind with what you hope for in the future.
