Goodness Me, 5,000 Words is Saying a Lot
Well 5,000 words in a blog post was certainly an abstract idea before this experience! I haven't been so focused on reaching a word count goal since graduate school. I published not 10 minutes ago on my first 5,000+ word post and the feeling of accomplishment and elation is going to take me into a fantastic weekend.
I'm almost writing this as a little reminder to myself about when I did this and how I felt about it and I'm excited about the prospect of looking back on this 6 months or a year from now and seeing how things have changed.

That's a pretty big accomplishment. I think my WA review post which is the longest I have is somewhere around 2,500 words but 5K... Wow!
Thanks Eric! It's my 3rd post but I really wanted to see early on how I could do it and what it would take. I'm looking forward to doing some shorter ones before attempting that again :)
