First I want to offer public congratulations to Dom, who has transcended newbie and become a professional marketer - well done you, way to go!

And the spur? Well, Dom joined about 9 months before me and he's got there - he's probably worked at it harder and smarter darn it.

It isn't that I'm seeing no success, but it hasn't taken off sufficiently and I was beginning to wonder why. He kindly offered suggestions on my site - things I should have been doing anyway - but it helped a lot to have an actionable list.

But that kick (thanks Dom) was enough to send me into Webmasters tools to do some serious analyzing, which I have and now have a headache as evidence!

However, I've realized two things. Traffic isn't dropping on my site because the rankings are dropping - in fact they are creeping up. It isn't just the January effect either, but several of the products are seasonal and on checking in Google Trends - well what a surprise, they've peaked for last year and won't be sought after again until August-ish.

There is a heck of a lot to learn to be an effective marketer, yes it's all about content but there's one or two other crucial little steps in there as well, so don't skip or skimp on the training here either.

But one thing you can take away from Dom's success is that the training here and the support from others is outstanding - put in the work like Dom has, and you'll will make it, a great many people already have.
