COMMENTING 101 (7 types of writing comments)

Besides of its outstanding pieces of training, webinars, via tutorials etc., what makes WA community a place to be is because of the comments we give to one another expressing our supports on each of our goals, showcasing our helpfulness to all our questions through positive notes on each of our blogs. We will discuss commenting 101 (7 types of comments).

The welcome of friendly WA members for the newbies. It helps to raise the confidence level and the feeling like being at home immediately. The words of encouragement are priceless because sometimes, we all need somebody to tell us exactly what we are doing is right especially by the members who are already here.

We are like immigrants from all places where we found not a country but a more cohesive community even we alternately call ourselves Family. One member creatively coined WAmily - a short form for WA family.

COMMENT, Feedback, Criticism and Remark.

Comment has the biggest area of applications, it could be a suggestion or feedback on what you wrote. Comments on our post could include opinion, their ideas that could be added or deducted from what you wrote. Comment is the written remark articulating supportive ideas, opinion or reaction.

1. Feedback could be the information about the result of an analysis, process, experiment, and so on.

Feedback is a reaction based on the information or data used as a means or pointers to improve the author’s content.

Feedback is merely a presentation of information that allows the author to develop its content. It is not to criticize but to present information only.

2. Criticism is in a sense, judging other person and the attitude to insult, degrade or demean. While there are constructive criticism, in the end is still written in negative way. However, though it is criticism it helps show the flaws or loopholes of the arguments of the article thus enhancing the knowledge of the author and improving the quality of the contents.

3. Remark is a comment regarding an issue. Comment is a reaction, observation, opinion and an expression of what has been understood about the content.

TYPES OF WRITING COMMENTS

In my view, for the sake of clarity and guidelines, let us consider, comments could be of anything: feedback, criticism, remarks, opinion, suggestions and the like.

Most of us started blogging and have found excitement and joy from reading positive (which is almost the case) comments on our content or our blog. And we find the importance of commenting on the blogs of others.

Here are what we write about on our comments.

The types of writing comment:

1. The Consolation

Those who console you and sympathize with you. Those that can relate on what you have written on your post.

2. The Reaction

Those that find the content something to react about, may be due to offensive words of, outrageous claim, misleading information and rude statements. Is the commenter’s own take on the subject matter of the blog expressing hi own opinion and ideas.

3. The Compliment

The praises and kudos for the blog well done. And the readers find the content something to praise for. A commenter that gives positive note. Things like way to go, keep going, great job, excellent, awesome

4. The Gratitude

Those who say thanks and appreciation caused by reading the content of the blog. Gratitude expressed due to some enlightened concept they were confused about.

5. Negative

It is an outright disagreement on what was read about the blog what the content is conveying on a particular subject.

It could be helpful when the negative statement is a constructive criticism. There is a saying forget the criticism but remember the lesson from it.

6. The Inspiration/Motivation

Most of us we comment words of motivation and inspiration. Things like:

The journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step.

We too have taken the long road before we start earning.

I still don’t earn even in my second year as a member but I am getting there.

The harder you work the “luckier” you become.

Winners never quit, quitters never win.

The best revenge to naysayer is success. I will not stop even after I succeeded, I am looking forward for more success.

Convince yourself, are you ready for this golden opportunity?

Thoughts become things for those who take action.

The difference between a loser and a winner is their mindset.

WA is the place to be that gives you everything you require for success, now, success is your job to achieve.

This is also a place where we welcome the newbies and give them words of encouragement our warm welcoming and showing our gladness for their membership.

7. The Corrective comment

Comments that show the right answer. Like:

The answer could be more realistic to say if it is …..

I agree with what you said on the topic A but on topic B I happen to know that ….. You my pm me to give you the source of my information.

You are not failing, in fact you are succeeding because you have learned a lot already.

The only way you will fail is when you stop trying and evolving.

The only way to solve the problem is to look for the solution of the problem

Problem are not there to think about, they are challenges to face and to resolve

Rude members is not the reason to stop you from your effort to succeed, remember there are 99% members who deserve you presence in the community.

MY COMMENTS

Here are some of my Comments I wrote this Friday to some of our members’ blogs:

1. Success is the correct amount of hard work following the right direction with the right skill set. You can hurry up the process by the quality and quantity of time you spend.

2. Most of us know the answer to our problem. The issue is the courage to take action. And the willingness to get out of our comfort zone.

3. Among others, do more than is required; it is what separate the winners from the ordinary.

4. With our own expertise, jack of all trade will be really a wonderful thing to be.

FINAL THOUGHTS

We may be in a stage where things are getting dimmer than brighter in terms of the goals we
set to achieve.

Sometimes we lost the passion and the interest, we thought we can have the same in other endeavors.

Comments from our well-meaning and supportive friends in the community sometimes enlighten us on the real deal.

We started to read the comments each day ad we the realized the positive effects of reading them as most of the comments validate our aspirations and cemented our beliefs that we can achieve our goals sooner or later.

The relentless dedication and the positive correct work ethics will make the big difference between those who implement it and those work around it.
