How to create content that matters? - The Blogger Struggles

You have a niche that you are in particular interested in. You like talking about it. You actually enjoy writing about it. Maybe you wrote a Facebook post here and there, or added a creative caption to your latest Instagram post.

And then you think 'Maybe,I should start a blog, so I can share all these things that are going on in head'.

So you start a blog. Maybe you are already experienced with Wordpress, or you choose one of these all-in-one providers, where you can build up a blog website like a powerpoint presentation.

(Side note: I have been there, done that. I did not like wordpress at all, and all the coding freaked me out. I refused to work with it. But at the end, it gives me so much more freedom in content creation, and it only took me one day on a weekend to be able to set up a complete website - Best advice: check the theme documentation, usually there is a step-by-step description to make your website look like the pretty template you chose

You can set up a website within minutes. The actual time-consuming part will be to fill it with content.

Let's say you already know what you want to write about, and you do it. You think about a matching title and just publish it. You might share the link on your Facebook or in an email to your friends and family saying 'hey, I started a blog. Here is the link, would be happy if you check it out'.

Your mum will probably check it out. (Because she always wants to know what you are doing;) and maybe some of your friends.

But otherwise your blog will most likely stay unnoticed.

Depending on how much you are already into blogging, you already heard things like SEO, keywords, traffic, generating website traffic, search engines, rankings...

and you are just like 'woooaaah! easy... I don't want to get into rocket science, I just want to write a bit' :D

I have been the same. And all these things rather scared me and were 'way too nerdy'. 'Generating traffic for my website' - it is not like I am building up a business right away. So you keep it cool and just ignore all that...

But there is actually nothing more rewarding then getting positive feedback on your posts. Someone saying 'Hey, I was looking for a solution for this and this (random topic) and this is how I found your blog, I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for helping me.'

And this is when you notice that your content matters, not only to you, but also to others. This is something that makes me very happy.

Let's forget for a second about 'generating traffic' to get more people to click on ads on your website - no, we are talking about the content, and content that matters to people who are thinking about the same things as you do.

To sum this up:

You want to create content that matters? Then you have to give people the opportunity to find your content. Because there a billions of people in this world and most of them google for answers;)

Which means you have to create your posts including relevant keywords and to get the search engine optimization right in order to have your site ranked in search websites like Google.

At the end, you can learn all this within one day:) Make it count. Create content that matters and let people find it!

Well I think everyone had it at least once the writer's blog. I like seminars on business and power player. Once I was watching a YouTube video on TeDx talk.

There was a man who was talking but I think he was Seth Godin.

What he said really struck my mind. the video was about half an hour long. So he explained over the years of perseverance what he learned was that how powerful our brain is.

Writing about how hard when he was just starting out. Our brain
power is limitless. It is normal that you find it difficult at first to produce content.

He always keep a pen and a notebook with him. Whenever a idea came he would wrote it down. If you do it over a period of 8 to 12 month you will become a content producing machine.

so true. for me personally it is not a question of not knowing what to write, on the contrary... I already wrote books and other manuscripts. But at first it seems to be quite a hurdle to get this content out in the world.
I will definitely look for that Tedx talk :)

When you are google indexed, ranked with relevant keywords, then getting traffic in the right places, you've arrived Catie!
It should go without saying the content must reach the customers deepest needs with the benefits offered and the navigation should get them to that solution quickly!

exactly that is what I am aiming for. I just did not care about rankings or traffic back in the days, but it is so easy and new bloggers should not be scared to make use of these tools. Therefore, I thought I'd share these thoughts. thanks for your support

My pleasure Catie. We're gong to go on from here remotivated and reenergized!

This is something that can be used as part of a Wealthy Affiliate review as a step by step help for some of your visitors....

thank you. I thought it is a good idea to share this, because I think many people start off with this mindset. They just want to write about things, and all these 'optimization steps' sound too much like business and complicated, but it is actually not.

You are so very right and that is telling!
