My "Doh!" Hand Smack in the Forehead Moment

Okay, so...I was pretty bummed a few days ago, but something my nephew said to me FINALLY sunk in. He asked why I was going to try selling someone else's product when I have my own to sell.

Well...duh! As I mentioned in my last post, I sell scrapbook embellishments online. What I didn't go on to say is that I have a following of over 7000 subscribers to my YouTube channel where I primarily market my products...not too shabby, so I thought.

So...this was my "doh!" (hand smack in the forehead) moment today...7000 is a pretty tiny portion of the 2.8 billion or so that are online every day. Why wouldn't I maximize the earning potential of what I already own before trying to sell someone else's product? Ask me - why did it take a mere 4 days for my nephew's comment to sink in? I have no answer for this, but I do have a plan!!!

I did start a silly affiliate website that is not destined to make much money, so I switched gears a little bit. I have done my keyword research for my already existing online shop, and there is definitely alot of potential. It just so happens that I was in the process of updating my website anyway, so I am going all SEO ninja on it. I opened a Twitter and Instagram account and linked everything together.

I finally feel like I am off to the races. My new (financial) goal...double my gross sales within 12 months...let's see how that goes!

Excellent Monique, you've found a way forward! :)

very cool!

Sounds like a win-win situation for you. You're already well ahead of the game when you think about it.

I definitely would through Pinterest into the Social Mix if you haven't already. Pinterest converts very well, and I think you could do well with it in the scrapbooking Niche.

Yes! I've had Pinterest and Facebook both set up for a while now, and I agree - Pinterest will convert very well. I just need to put more effort into it now.

I do feel like I rocketed ahead - forehead is still a bit sore from the realization this morning...lol
