Informative and enlightening
I try to never underestimate anything. No matter how much you think you know, there is always something you can learn. When I got to the point where I created my WordPress site. my first thought was like, "Yeah, I got this!" I quickly learned that I had been doing some things the hard way.
I am at the end of Level 2. Making Money comes next! I have learned a lot and I have written more than I thought I ever would. but that's ok, it hasn't really been hard.
My first struggle was picking a niche. It's not uncommon to have trouble with that. I just thought of what I really liked the most. There are so many things, but I narrowed it down to technology. Specifically internet automation and smart devices.
I never had the end thought until it all came together. I narrowed it down to smart light bulbs and that led me to "best smart lighting" for a domain. It wasn't until then that I realized how much knowledge and fascination I had for lighting as a whole.
During my career, I spent 9 years with Philips. Six of those years with the Lighting Division. Lighting Science is as exciting as the products themselves. So I believe I can monetize my site by promoting Philips' outstanding smart home products.
For anyone out that that is stuck on a niche. Just sit back and think of things you like and are most passionate about, and it will just come to you.
I don't really know how to measure my success as I probably should. I am not having any setbacks and I am following everything easily and completing all of the tasks. The fact that I am already completing level 2 after such a short time, is a success.
I have also taken pretty well to the writing. People have told me in the past that I have good writing skills. They can never tell me why. I think it's because the keyboard is attached to my mind. I just type what I feel and what I think. That's what I do when I talk, so I guess that is how it happens. I am not an expert on the matter. Feedback will tell me more.
I honestly haven't defined 3 months and 6-month goals. I am going to defy Kyle's view on multitasking. I don't believe that multitaskers can't be productive. If you witnessed what I did every day at work, you would see that if I can't multitask, I can't survive. I have to be focused and organized on several different projects minute by minute.
However, I believe that I am very successful at it and I am very productive. The funny thing is that I don't necessarily apply the same techniques outside of work. I am not sure why. Maybe because I don't have to. So Kyle's advice is still great advice. I need to focus more on prioritizing what I need to do "personally" day by day and that is one thing that I will work on.
Since I had to post this publically, I want to take a moment to say how much I am enjoying the training. It is truly easy to follow and the instruction is clear and written out as well. Kyle's voice is calming and not intimidating or forceful. It must be because he's Canadian. I won't hold that against him ;)
Thank you for the great training and thank you to the community for all your support. I am excited to get to know more people and share more comments and ideas as I move forward.
